It was a great experience! We saw many bears and cubs. Also some foxes. The guide Vlad was great! He taught us a huge amount of things.
Extremely professional and informative local operator and guide. Useful info sent to us about the tour a day prior, pick up was on time, friendly and informative guide and what an experience to be able view bears in their natural habitat like this. Highlight of our trip and would go again in a heart beat. I work in travel myself and highly recommend
The tour was exceptionally interesting. Our guide spoke fluent German and provided us with detailed information about the bears. The observation of the bears was very impressive, and several bears came to the feeding area. We can definitely recommend this tour!
This was top of our list when coming to Romania and we were not disappointed! The tour was excellent - great communication in advance and comfortable ride to the forest from Brasov. Vlad is an excellent tour guide and gave us loads of info on bears in Romania - he was funny, engaging and knowledgeable (the ultimate combo in a tour guide). When we arrived there were already two bears there - the kids were so excited! Over 1.5hours we saw ten bears and four cubs, which were the absolute highlight. We also saw a fox and cub. The hide is comfortable and they provide binoculars (which do help you get a close up view, but you can also see the bears perfectly well without them too). It was amazing to see so many bears in the wild, and the whole tour felt safe and very well organised. One of the best wildlife watching experiences we've had.
Pleasantly surprised at how much bear action we saw. A mom and 3 cubs. Bullying by dominant male. Fierce mama bear to perceived threats from other bears. Really worthwhile unique experience!
The observation of the wild brown bears exceeded my expectations; we saw about 6-7 adult bears and 6 small cubs - we were lucky. Our guide Vlad shared a lot of interesting information about Romanian bears with us; the drive through the landscape was wonderful - overall, it was the highlight of our trip to Romania!
Vlad was great and very knowledgeable. He told us exactly what to expect on the bus journey there and answered all our questions. We were so lucky to see many bears and Vlad told us facts about the ones he recognised and encouraged us to guess genders and ages. Great experience and one I will never forget. We were in the hide about 1.5 hours, the journey from Braşov was maybe 45 minutes each way. There were 8 people in our group which was great so we all had front row seats and easy access to binoculars. If you have your own it’s worth bringing. There’s no toilet there so worth going before the journey, and if you get travel sick, take tablets beforehand as the track near the hide is quite rough. We didn’t have to walk at all, the van was parked right next to the hide. Think we paid around £160 for 2 people.
Very beautiful experience, we were lucky to observe many bears from the smallest to the largest. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about bears!
This was such a cool tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The bears were very active, we saw at least 15 bears on the trip including cubs. It was an amazing experience and the highlight of our trip.
We booked via Hotels.com and to our dismay, we got a text from Vlad saying there was no spaces left. It fairness to him and Simone they moved heaven and earth and arranged transport just in the nick of time. Although the hide was larger than we expected, with around 30 visitors, we certainly weren’t disappointed as we saw 2 fully grown male bears, 4 females, 1 teenager, a pine martin and a fox. Apparently, Pine Martins are very rare, 1 in 20 visits and foxes 1 in 5 so to see them all we felt so lucky We both got some fantastic photos and videos and take away memories that will last forever. An absolute must for visitors who are in the area
