Had a wonderful day exploring Nusa Penida. The views were breathtaking, especially the coastline and crystal-clear blue water. Every place we visited had its own charm and made for some amazing photos. It’s definitely a great choice if you want to experience Bali’s natural beauty beyond the main island. Would love to come back someday!
This was my first time snorkeling and also my first time seeing a manta ray. I was so nervous at first but when one glided past me I couldn’t stop smiling. The staff were patient and helped me feel comfortable in the water. It was such an emotional moment and definitely worth every penny.
We stopped at Manta Bay, Wall Point/Gamat Bay, and Crystal Bay, and honestly, all three were worth it. Manta Bay had the excitement of spotting manta rays, Wall Point/Gamat Bay was beautiful with coral and marine life, while Crystal Bay had such clear water. It was fun moving from one spot to another and seeing how different each location felt. A really enjoyable snorkeling experience in Nusa Penida!
The ocean around Nusa Penida is simply breathtaking. From the cliffs to the crystal clear water and rich marine life, everything felt untouched and wild. The tour was well organized, safe, and seemed eco-friendly. If you’re visiting Nusa Penida, this snorkeling trip is absolutely a must-do.
I loved that we got to visit three different spots in one day. Manta Bay was for the big mantas, Crystal Bay had the clearest water and lots of fish, and Gamat Bay was full of beautiful coral gardens. Each location had a different vibe so it never felt repetitive. The boat crew was punctual and explained everything well at each stop.
The coral reefs were full of color and life. I saw parrotfish, butterflyfish, clownfish, and even a sea turtle swimming by. The coral looked healthy and not bleached at all. Every few minutes we’d spot something new. It honestly felt like swimming inside a natural aquarium.
The visibility in the water was incredible. I could see coral and fish clearly from the surface without even diving down. The ocean was that bright turquoise blue you usually only see in photos. Most spots had very little current so it was comfortable even for beginners. Bringing my own mask really made the experience even better.
Seeing manta rays up close at Manta Bay was the highlight of my trip to Nusa Penida. We were lucky to spot 4 of them and one even swam right under me. The water was calm and the guides knew exactly where to wait without disturbing the mantas. It felt safe and respectful for both us and the animals. I highly recommend going in the morning when the water is clearest.
I enjoyed seeing Nusa Penida from the water just as much as exploring it on land. The snorkeling was relaxed and easy to enjoy, with plenty of fish and marine life around us. I didn't expect to spend so much time just floating around and looking underwater. It ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Not a great experience for our family. The whole experience was a poorly organised operation, from the missed pickup, to getting dropped off in the wrong place, to not going to any of the 3 listed snorkelling points (apparently too rough), not seeing any manta rays and thats just the first half of the day. The restaurant stop for lunch was great - really good food. The island tour involves 3.5 hours of driving on the worst roads weve experienced in Bali, at a pace comparable with a round of the WRC. We had an expert driver, but this is not a leasurely outing - its flat out / fast paced and hectic, with 2 very breif stops. The roads & driving on Nusa Penida is an experience in itself. That said - the scenary at Angels Billabong, Broken Beach (1st stop) and Kellingking Beach (2nd stop) is breathtaking - absolutely stunning, but all locations are overcrowded and rushed. A great way to boost your Instagram status, but you will loose some of your soul in the process. Not the real Bali experience for us.
