Este recorrido INTRODUCTOR, ÚNICO y ATRACTIVO, "Nunca más", ha sido creado para ayudar a los visitantes a desentrañar las realidades y pesadillas de uno de los períodos más oscuros de la historia moderna. Es hora de emprender un viaje de conciencia, una búsqueda de recuerdo y cambio. No se habla lo suficiente de lo que pasó, tenemos que asegurarnos de que no vuelva a suceder. Hablaremos de las víctimas de este campo de concentración y del Holocausto en general, y estableceremos paralelismos con los acontecimientos actuales. La conversación está diseñada para desafiarnos a todos. Cosas a tener en cuenta: El recorrido está destinado a personas mayores de 13 años. ¡Cada guía estará identificado con una pequeña banderita amarilla y nuestro nombre! Este recorrido implica caminar mucho.

Nuestro paseo desde la estación de tren nos lleva al centro de visitantes, donde modelos detallados del campo aclaran las estructuras físicas diseñadas para el control y la perpetuación de la superioridad sobre los prisioneros. Descubra la inquietante transformación del antiguo campo de entrenamiento de las SS en la actual academia de policía de Brandeburgo, un crudo recordatorio de la oscura historia del lugar. Embárcate en una exploración autónoma de los barracones de los prisioneros y la cocina del campo, donde los neonazis que niegan el Holocausto han lanzado ataques. Descubra conexiones con el presente, incluido el ascenso de AfD, un grupo de extrema derecha alemán. Finalmente, la enfermería revela las profundidades del racismo, el control sobre los cuerpos de las mujeres, la eugenesia y la inquietante verdad de los prisioneros tratados como ratas de laboratorio para el avance profesional de los médicos nazis. There are no words to describe what happened there but there are some for this visit: very friendly guide, understandable explanations with language appropriate to the situation. We were able to ask all the questions we had because there were only 8. I recommend Siobhan as a guide!

We toured in February and despite the cold and atmosphere of the camp, our guide managed to keep the tone to explain clearly what was at stake in this camp. I really enjoyed the experience but I wish I "never" needed to make such a visit again. The team was very attentive to our needs.

I was on the fence about visiting Sachsenhausen but in the end I was really glad that I made the trip and used with this outfit. To be clear, this is not a dense, academic, scripted tour but still one that thoroughly explains Sachsenhausen's uniquely grim history as, first, the Nazi's "model" concentration camp, later a Soviet "special" camp and finally a pro-communist, anti-fascist propaganda tool. What I liked about and believe differentiates this tour, is that our guide Siobhán's knowledgable commentary was filtered through a progressive, feminist lens, connecting the past with the present. (It is not heavy handed, but if this is not your political slant, this might not be the tour for you.) Siobhán was very sensitive to the extraordinary brutality, suffering, and loss of life that took place at Sachsenhausen as well as the feelings of those who visit the site, and she imparted this deference to the group. That said, while she rightfully set a respectful tone, she also managed to insert an appropriate level of levity (if that is the right word?) at certain points, so that while the tour was certainly very sad and at times absolutely sickening, I left feeling educated-- better, not broken. I will also add that a few participants (including me) had travel snags, and the outfitter was very helpful, patient and communicative. All in all, it was a very positive experience that I would recommend to friends.
