Descubre Sainte-Mère-Église, una ciudad de Normandía, fue una de las primeras liberadas durante la invasión del Día D el 6 de junio de 1944. Los paracaidistas de la 82.a División Aerotransportada de Estados Unidos aterrizaron en el área, algunos cayeron involuntariamente en la ciudad misma. Un evento famoso involucró al paracaidista John Steele, cuyo paracaídas se enganchó en el campanario de la iglesia; fingió estar muerto antes de escapar de la captura alemana. Después de feroces combates, los aliados aseguraron la ciudad por la mañana. Hoy en día, Sainte-Mère-Église simboliza la valentía del Día D, con homenajes como un paracaídas en la iglesia y museos en honor a la liberación.
Dirígete a la playa de Omaha y pasa 8 kms de la costa frente al Canal de la Mancha. En la orilla, encontrarás una escultura llamada Les Braves "Los Bravos" en honor a los soldados que lucharon en la guerra. Opcionalmente se puede visitar un museo cercano.
Continúe el recorrido hasta el cementerio americano de Normandía para rendir homenaje a los luchadores de la batalla. This one day (8 hour) tour generally focussed on the USA journey. It was excellent. There were 6 of us in a private mini bus. We were picked up from our private Air BnB accommodation. We had a great English speaking guide, 'Sophia', who had her own family connections to D Day which made it all the more genuine. She gave us great intel and was able to answer all of our questions. She planned the day well so we avoided the crowds and we covered a lot of ground in a very full on day. My only criticism was that there was some confusion over the start time. We originally booked it for 09:30 and then changed it to 08:30. Despite the paperwork recognising this, the message never got to the tour guide or driver so they came at 09:30. This left us anxious whilst we were waiting for them to arrive and resulted in me having to chase it up. All in all, it didn't spoil our day but, in terms of feedback - its worth double checking.

Our guide was superb and her choices perfect for us. She was extremely knowledgeable bringing fresh views to our trip. Went from Honfleur to Normandy US sites. Driver only no guide but Gianni was on time, very professional and helped guide us through our options and keep us on track to see everything we wanted to include and get us back to our cruise line right on time.

The most memorable points of interest were Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery. We also visited Gold Beach, Arromanches, the Overlord Museum and Bayeux, It was all very special. Sunny made sure we got to experience what we wanted and she and Mo were very considerate of our time and making sure we had a great experience….which we did.
