Night tour guided experience Uvita

Andrea and Andres are excellent tour guides and this was a wonderful experience! We went as a family (boys aged 10, 7 and 5) and saw trap door spiders, a scorpion, and a viper. Andres went above and beyond by carrying the littles across the stream. Highly recommend!

Our family of five did the Uvita Night Tour at Oxygen Jungle Villas grounds with Shabby and Chico in March 2026, and it was absolutely incredible. Out of the 10 days we spent exploring Costa Rica, I think this was my 10-year-old daughter’s favorite experience of the entire trip! We saw so many fascinating creatures, including countless frogs, insects, and even a scorpion glowing under UV light. The tour was both exciting and educational, and our children (ages 5, 10, and 11) were engaged the entire time. Shabby and Chico were outstanding guides—knowledgeable, patient, kind, and wonderful with children. They shared so much information about the local wildlife and made the experience fun for the whole family. I jokingly told Shabby that I was going to take credit for all of the amazing photos we brought home, but that wouldn’t be in the spirit of Pura Vida! The incredible pictures you’ll see were all thanks to his photography skills. Those photos will be treasured memories for our family for years to come. Thank you, Shabby and Chico, for an unforgettable adventure and for sharing your knowledge, passion, and love of nature with us. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

The night tour was absolutely fabulous. What made our tour great was our guide Greivin. He was very personable and friendly. His knowledge and ability to find the night wildlife was amazing. We saw viper snacks, poison frogs and a glass frog to mention a few. He knew I did photography and offered for me to use his macro lens as I did not have one for the night tour. I highly recommend Uvita Night Tours!

This was a wonderful experience! The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. My husband loves all the creepy crawly things. The guides answered many questions and pointed out things we would have walked right by. Good eyes Romon! We saw many different insects, frogs, spiders, snakes and even two fer de lance which was my husbands bucket list snake. He was so excited that his hands were shaking, or maybe it was because we were that close to the second most venomous snake in Costa Rica. Having said that, we felt safe throughout the hike which was just strenuous enough for this senior citizen to sweat a bit. Thank you so much for a memorable time!

Greivin and Andrea led us on a spectacular tour of the uvita rainforest at night. They were able to find and teach us about so many really cool creatures - vipers, poison frogs, tarantulas, glass frogs, trap door spiders, scorpions, several lizards frogs and toads and so many more. They placed safety first and were so warm and helpful. We got several beautiful photos and videos of cool and creepy creatures. This is an experience you won’t ever forget. We had an amazing experience with Ramon and Andrea. My wife and I felt totally safe with them and were so impressed by both their knowledge and enthusiasm for the animals we got to see. Whether it was snakes, frogs, insects, etc., they were so helpful in spotting them and giving fun information about them. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a night tour :)

We had a great experience on this tour! The tour guides were super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions in great detail. We loved hearing about other experiences they have had and about all the other wildlife in the area. We had our 18 and 15 year old with us and their favorites were the tarantulas and scorpion. We were lucky enough to see a male and female tarantula and the size difference. Also saw many frogs, a snake, and different insects. Highly recommend!

Greivin is amazing! He is so knowledgeable and friendly. We had a last minute change of plans and he accommodated us without a problem. If you are in Uvita, you must sign up for a tour with him. His passion is evident, and he shares his love of nature with everyone on the tour. He went above and beyond. We mentioned that we hadn’t seen a sloth yet, and he went out of his way (on his personal time, no less) to find a sloth for us in Uvita, (he does sloth tours as well) and we met him in town where he showed us 3 sloths in between his tours. That’s the type of hospitality that is completely unexpected but really makes the difference. Seriously, it’s not a trip to Uvita without a tour with Greivin! Pura vida!
