We had an extraordinary wine experience with Betty, our wine guide. She took us to 3 winery’s, all with their own unique characteristics. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Someone you would like to invite for dinner afterwards. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour.
We spent a great half day near Nemea. Betti picked us up from the hotel and brought us back again. She did the tour extremely well and designed it according to our wishes. Even the food afterwards was excellent. Definitely recommendable.
Absolutely wonderful wine tour experience. Have been on several tours in various places, and this one was our favorite. Betty was great, personable and very knowledgable. We learned a lot about the region and unique aspects of Greek wine making. Highly recommend
Guide, Betty, was amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly and east to spend the day with. All wineries were fantastic, and different from one another! Greatly enjoyed the trip!
Betty was a wonderful tour guide! She gave us the history of Greek wine and was extremely knowledgeable about all of the grape varieties and wine processes. We visited three different wineries and had tours of each one’s facilities. Each of the tours was very thorough and informative. We were happily surprised that we enjoyed all of the wines. The only drawback is that we don’t have more room in our suitcases to bring more bottles home! Besides being so knowledgeable, Betty was a delight to be with and made the experience especially fun.
We had a wonderful day exploring three different styles of wineries with our guide/oenologist Betty. The drive from Athens to Nemea went quickly as Betty generously shared her knowledge of the Greek wine industry and Nemea region. Her relationships with various vintners made introductions feel personal. Never rushed or pressured, it was the perfect way to savour and enjoy the wine, food, and especially the conversations with vintners. Betty went “above and beyond” in an effort to return an item to us that was left behind after our tour. Whether an oenophile or not, take this tour without hesitation. Stefano and Betty, thank you for an incredible day and the memories made.
LOVED this tour! We have done many wine tours over the years, but never had such a fun, friendly, and knowledgeable guide! Betty, a winemaker with experience running and working in wineries around the world, took us to large, medium, and small wineries, each with unique products and local significance. She spent the day offering insight and answering our questions on the wineries, the wines, the region, and Greek culture in general, keeping us informed and entertained from start to finish! Could not have asked for a better tour!
We had an absolutely fantastic day. Our guide, Betty, was lively and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone. Stuart Pearcy
This was simply the best wine/food tour I've taken anywhere in the world. Betty Vervainioti is a friendly, easy-going, extremely knowledgeable guide. She has worked in Napa Valley, so her English is excellent. We chatted about culture, our lives, travel...and, of course, Greek food and wine! What made the tour so exceptional for me is that we were able to linger at each stop and chat with the proprietors or guides about Greek life. It was an unhurried day that filled both my belly and my soul. Another note: Stefano was very communicative and welcoming. He went out of his way to adjust the tour for us at the last minute when my traveling companion and I realized we had a schedule conflict. Stefano worked after hours the night before our tour to readjust and ensure we had a memorable experience. Thank you both for making our trip to Greece so special.
Betty arrived to pick us up from our hotel right on time, we were 2 couples. As soon as we got in to the car, we knew that we were going to have a great day. Betty is so knowledgeable, she knew so much about the varietals from around the world and also the local wines. She was a wine maker herself. She was professional, lovely, fun to be with, and she couldn't do enough for us. We went to 3 wineries in the Nemea region - all completely different. We had a light lunch at one. In the last winery, they gave us some accompaniments to the wine tasting and I loved these crackers that were a cross between a cracker and a pastry. They were so delicious. On the way back to our hotel, Betty stopped at a local bakery for me to grab some more! She is a complete delight, and professional all the way. Do not hesitate to do a wine tour with Greece by the Glass - and be sure to ask for Betty. She made our day!! Thank you, Betty!!
