The tour provided a half day insight into Apartheid history and present day reality in Soweto. An emotional journey visiting so many historic buildings and sites where the protests occurred and the triumph overcoming apartheid. The visit to a Soweto slum village was emotionally challenging. The conditions were deplorable the people were amazing and appeared have a wonderful sense of community in spite of their situation. The visit to the home of Nelson Mandela and his life was nothing less than totally inspirational. Our guide provided excellent understanding and knowledge

The tour was a good overview of Johannesburg. We saw both the constitution hill and apartheid museums, drove through soweto and visited an informal settlement. The 10min walk through the settlement was hosted by a local charitable organisation. Some things were rather brief due to time constraints but our Guide, Pastor, had interesting facts for everything we saw. He was a joy to be around and answered every question we had in great detail, no matter how specific :) I would recommend this tour to anyone who's strapped for time or wants to get a good overview of johannesburg.
