Situado a lo largo de la carretera nacional 6 entre el centro de la ciudad de Siem Reap y el aeropuerto internacional, el Museo de la Guerra de Camboya (anteriormente el Museo de la Guerra de Siem Reap) se extiende sobre 2 hectáreas. Fue fundada en 2001 y renombrada en 2013 con importantes renovaciones a partir de 2015 para preservar y restaurar las exposiciones
Wat Thmei es un pequeño pero importante monumento conmemorativo en Siem Reap, construido para honrar a las víctimas del trágico pasado de Camboya bajo el régimen de los Jemeres Rojos. Ubicada dentro de los terrenos de una pagoda budista en funcionamiento, contiene una estupa de vidrio llena de cráneos y huesos de aquellos que perdieron la vida. Los visitantes pueden ver exhibiciones que explican la oscura historia de Camboya, mientras también experimentan el ambiente pacífico de los terrenos del templo donde los monjes continúan su vida diaria. El Centro de Visitantes de APOPO ofrece una experiencia inspiradora y educativa donde los visitantes aprenden cómo ratas gigantes africanas especialmente entrenadas, conocidas como HeroRATs, detectan minas terrestres y salvan vidas en Camboya. Lanzado en marzo de 2023 y ubicado en #256 BBU Road, Satcha sirve como el primer centro de incubación de artesanías de Camboya. Empodera y capacita a artesanos locales a través de programas intensivos de varios años que combinan técnicas tradicionales jemeres con diseño contemporáneo. Abarca aproximadamente una hectárea, e incluye talleres, jardines paisajistas, una sala de exposición y una cafetería, todos construidos con materiales sostenibles y ecológicos como el bambú.
La Residencia Real (Preăh Réachôdâmnăk) es una villa real construida en 1904, sirviendo como residencia oficial del rey de Camboya cuando visita Siem Reap Tiene un significado histórico desde la época del protectorado francés, cuando se dice que el rey Norodom Sihanouk planeó su campaña de independencia desde allí en la década de 1950 Solo Siem Reap Un gran incendio en marzo de 2023 dañó uno de los edificios del complejo, aunque la residencia principal se salvó; los trabajos de restauración están en marcha

We were looking for something to do in Seim Reap that did not involve a temple or ancient ruin. That is exactly what we found we in this highly educational tour about the killing fields and what Cambodia has gone through as a country. It also highlighted the importance of the Appoca organization and their training of rats to find land mines in the country. And some of the artillery that is laying around in Cambodia at the war museum. Make sure to visit the royal palace and gardens to see the tree bats and release a bird to bring good karma for the rest of your trip
