Cooking with Mamma and her cousin was such a fun, engaging, and informative cooking experience! True Italian cooking with 2 wonderful, friendly teachers. Making pasta and tiramisu with simple, traditional ingredients could NOT be more fun! New friends are not forgotten.
We took a class with Debora with our two teens and were incredibly fortunate to be the only ones there that night! Debora was very engaging with our shy teens and had us all laughing and chatting as we prepared our food. Taking a cooking class in someone's home really helps deepen your experience of the culture and makes it feel extra special. The steps were all very easy to follow, and the pasta, sauces and tiramisu turned out beautifully. Debora shared lots of cultural insights, and her love of Rome, ancient architecture and travel made for amazing conversations. We feel grateful that we were able to do this and are thankful to Debora for opening her home and sharing her food and culture with us. We left feeling like a part of her family. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
The highlight of our trip! Our hosts were wonderful - welcoming and funny. It was so nice to lean to cook an amazing meal with people from around the world. Highly recommend!
Welcome to my belated review of Much More Than Just a Cooking Class in Rome. This actually deserved an immediate review however after traveling to Ireland the next day, I spent much of my time in the emergency department of a Limerick Hospital (on an unrelated matter of course!) and now all my reviews are late! But enough about me! Mamma and Maurizio were absolutely stand out hosts and teachers. My sister and I had a wonderful time rolling out pasta on the guitar strings, singing and mixing tiramisu ingredients to Dancing Queen, and torturing Maurizio with stories of my Pavlovamisu abomination. This was one of the absolute highlights of my 3 week trip to Europe and cannot recommend it enough - and not least because Rolly dog is a very good boy (13/10). The banter between mum and son is truly heartwarming. Cinque Stelle. Molto bene!
Thank you so much, with this review you made our day 😘
Amazing experience! The family was so welcoming and the pasta was excellent!! My daughter and I have celiac and they were able to accommodate us completely! Thank you so much!
Absolutely fabulous experience with Mamma and her son, Mau. My husband and I have had an incredible evening, and the food we produced was absolutely delicious.
We LOVED this cooking experience! Our group of three joined another couple, and the five of us had an unforgettable evening. The hosts were fantastic—keeping the energy up with music, laughter, and mystery shots from the “mystery belt.” Everyone got a chance to participate with unique and fun cooking tasks, and the food we made was absolutely delicious. We were proud of what we created! Highly recommend taking a taxi to the location (walking would be tough), but the view is stunning. I’ll be recommending this to all my friends visiting Rome!
This experience was AMAZING. First, you do the cooking class in their home which feels extremely authentic, because you see how exactly the locals cook and what instruments they use. You can tell that all the ingredients used are very good quality, especially by feel and taste. The recipes that are used were passed down from their family and are so simple and so flavorful. The ladies are so wonderful and have such great energy that they made the class an amazing experience.
We had a really good time. It was entertaining, informative, funny and delicious. We don't buy pasta anymore, from now on we only have homemade ones.
We had so much fun at this class! I have made my own pasta for many years, and still came away having learned something new. I loved the stories shared of traditions as well.
