Wira was a phenomenon guide. So supportive and encouraging when the trek was a little challenging. He made all the difference to a one in a life time experience
5 Star Trek. The hike was slightly hard but the views were incredible and worth it. Very safe and very well organised
Really fun experience. It took about 12h (from hotel back to hotel). We reached the mountain at 5:30am and we had plenty of time for the sunrise. We cooked eggs on the steam which was fun. The sunrise was beautiful and the sky was clear, there are so many spots for good pictures. Trekking was not very hard, there are many break points and there is even a motorbike or jeep to help you gain faster progress. Great experience overall!
Steep climb on shale in the dark wearing headlamps. You need to be fit. Water is supplied (you'll need it). Our guide was very good and attentive. We are in our mid 70's, but very fit.
The trek was a lot harder than we expected but the guide, Wira (and a local named Mary) were incredibly helpful and arranged an easier option for us. Wira was excellent and went above and beyond as well as being a professional photographer, we really couldn’t have asked for anything more from him!
We have a great time on our hike up Mount Batur to see the sunrise. Our guide Wira was knowledgeable and very attentive to all our needs. He was very mindful of our safety and making sure we had sufficient breaks and got the photos and the experience we wanted. Couldn’t fault him. The pickup from the hotel was really smooth as well as communication prior to pickup We have been on a similar trip 25 years ago - there was a lot less folks there then! The one thing I was less keen on was all the noise from the jeeps going up the mountain but these only went up halfway and we soon left these behind. There were motorbikes that went all the way up but for the most part these took a different path although you do need to keep an eye out. Again - Wira was great at keeping us on the right track All in all wouldn’t have missed it for the world The geothermal steam at the top really was a sight to behold as well of course the sunrise itself and seeing all the stars. It was a very morning. As a northern hemisphere dweller interesting to see different sky… It’s a nice hike btw - challenging enough without being too hard. We are over 50 and not exactly fit and found it lovely.
Amazing experience trekking Mount Batur! Kuas was an incredible guide: super kind, patient, attentive and always making sure we were comfortable throughout the hike. He made the climb so much more enjoyable and helped us all the way to the top. The sunrise was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the early wake-up! 🌋🌅 Thank you Kuas for making this experience unforgettable. I 100% recommend him to anyone wanting to hike Mount Batur!
It was a really nice experience. Thanks to Yus the guide.
Trekking, jeeps, scooters share one path. There are a lot of companies, so there is a stream of people. It could be a very beautiful hike if you didn't have to walk in the exhaust fumes and constantly dodge the scooters. Bring warm clothing for the top, otherwise you can rent a jacket or pants for 100,000 each. The sunrise is very beautiful, but also very crowded. Separate paths would be great, or even better, walking only.
A well organised adventure with a friendly and welcoming driver and guide. As a family with 5 children we really enjoyed this. Dress warmly for the top. There is a motorbike option for a small additional cost which I used to go up and down as I have hip issues and it is quite a steep hike but the rest of the family managed it fine. I was fully supported throughout by the kind guide which I appreciated. Highly recommended, hugely memorable experience!
