Mount Batur could be a not to difficult hike but it is not as to many people in the morning, it is crowded and the trail is hurting it needs fixing to many loose stones etc but aside from that the view is amazing and breathtaking
An amazing day from start to finish. From Bot, the driver, to Juta, the Mount Batur guide, and Nyoman the guide at Sekumpal - all were polite, friendly, courteous, professional and went out of their way to help. We were staying in Ubud so the day involved a lot of travelling but Bot did a good job, a lovely man. It’s a very early start but that’s expected. I did find the climb up Mount Batur challenging; I thought I was pretty fit but it was hard going! Juta was very patient and slowed to my pace allowing for rests whenever we needed them. I’m sure younger adults would not find it a problem at all. We still got to the summit with plenty of time until the sunrise which was spectacular. So worth the climb. Juta took some amazing photos and also a lovely video that he put to music which we didn’t realise he was taking. Such a beautiful memento. The breakfast was ok - haven’t seen green bread before! Going down was much easier than the ascent but it is very slippery due to the unstable footing of the rocks. The walking poles they provide prove invaluable. Sekumpul waterfalls are stunning. They do involve some steps and slopes which wouldn’t usually be difficult, but after climbing a volcano you notice them! It’s worth taking swimwear as most people swim at the bottom of the waterfalls. You also need shoes that can wade through water. Nyoman, like Juta, also went out of his way to take some amazing photos and videos. The views are breathtaking and the trees, plants and flowers of the jungle are gorgeous. We were given a nice lunch and had lots of bottles of water throughout the day. We were very much looked after and I would thoroughly recommend this day out.
Best part of our trip. We loved the walk and the views. Our guide, Jata made it a unique experience. Thanks Jata!!
Brother GERALD is the best guide. Very accommodating, friendly and good english too! We even did trail running while going down the mountain!
I only had one day and for me it was definitely worth doing both sunrise hike and waterfall, although I was very tired towards the end of the day. Cooper, my guide for Mt Batur and Wayan, my driver for the day were the best, were both super nice and professional. As locals they could tell me about life and culture in Bali. I had a great day!
A very well arranged hike and really really experienced and friendly guides. CARIK kept us moving to the top of the mountain , helping us when we needed it. Highlight : expert photography by CARIK, really good photos and videos of the entire activity.
We had a fantastic hike today. Our driver was Ari and our guide for the hike was Gede. Both were fantastic. Gede took some great photos of my partner and I on the hike today. The waterfalls and coffee plantation visit were also great!
The Mount Batur hiking was an exceptional experience and one of my favourite parts of the Bali trip. The tour itself was very well organised, with a pickup from our hotel in Ubud very early in the night (2:30am) to take us to the starting point. Entry tickets to the Mount Batur conservation region was already included. We met Jata, our guide there who provided us with all the hiking equipment. The trip itself was not very taxing, but still Jata was very understanding and we took multiple stops during the uphill hike. Most importantly he ensured that the tempo was suited to our needs and fitness levels. On the top he provided us with a light breakfast and a choice of drinks. The views were stunning and Jata was always around taking pictures for us. He also took us around the caldera and showed us interesting places of hot steam rising up. The downhill hike was very smooth, and he took us through a different road. All the way his quirky and humble nature kept us entertained. In all I was quite happy with the experience.
We had an absolutely great time trekking Kintamani thanks to our terrific guide, Carik who showed us a great time! He gave us the best experience by customizing the trip to our liking, to be around less people and to take spectacular photos we will always cherish! Highly recommend this trip!
We left with Jata around 3:30 for the hike to the summit of Mount Batur. Several breathtaking views. At the top, snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, the weather was not right for sunset. No problem, we were very satisfied with the ride and the explanations of our guide (especially at the summit regarding volcanic activity). Back with headlamps, a nice experience! In short, a superb sports activity, accessible to everyone, both adults and children. Thank you, Jata!
