We had a wonderful time with Kiyoko! My teens and I love mochi, and this class was such a fun and memorable experience! We loved learning about mochi’s history and its role in Japanese holidays, and it was super fun and exciting to make several different kinds, including many we had never seen in the U.S. we got to take great pics for the memory book and will def try doing a mochi making party for our friends when we get home! Kiyoko even showed us what ingredients to buy and where we could get them. Highly recommend!
A wonderful experience. We learned so much about the history of mochi and the meaning behind the different types of mochi as well.
Great experience, easy to find. we enjoyed learning and interacting with Japanese culture in a tasty way.
Great experience with warm and friendly instructors. They even managed to be very patient with my 4 year old. It was so well done and organized. Highly recommend!
Owa was a great teacher and spoke very good English. She made the art of making mochi seem quite easy - great class for beginners. I liked that she taught the philosophy behind wagashi and incorporated real world examples of where mochi is part of Japanese festivals and holidays. The best part was getting to eat a bunch of mochi at the end!
The three of us enjoyed making mochi in different forms and tasting our efforts. It was great to hear from our teacher the symbolism and importance of mochi to Japanese culture and traditions. A very worthwhile and reasonably priced activity suitable for children over 10.
We are a family of five and has a fun time making and learning about mochi. The experience was all very well managed.
