We were not able to go to Chichen Itza due to protests and closures of the site. We went to Uxmal, Kabul, and a small cenote instead. The new sites were very cool to see but we felt our tour guide did not give us much of a tour. He started off very strong but as the day progressed we felt more like school children being dropped off at a site and left to explore on our own and given a time limit to return to the car. We also did not feel it was clearly stated that even though we paid for the tour, we would still need to pay for entrance into every spot we visited. We were not prepared for this and other patrons to the tour were gracious enough to cover for us because we did not have the cash on us and ATMs were not on site. The other members of our tour felt the same. We highly recommend visiting all of the sites we were able to visit, but honestly do it on your own time and you will save money and have a much more worthwhile experience.
A really great tour with Alberto and Jose. The large van is air conditioned which is critical with the heat and they continuously supplied cold water which is much appreciated. Alberto seamlessly moved between Spanish and English explanations to accommodate different language speakers — providing the same thorough level of details to both. They give you time at each site to explore, so you’ll enjoy it as much as you are willing to explore. At Izamal we were able to walk up a pyramid, visit the monetary and check out some shops. The cenote was a great experience — it’s quite built out, but is a unique opportunity. Chichén Itzá is just incredibly and jaw-dropping. Alberto spent an hour going through detail of Mayan history and up to contemporary land purchases and transfers. I highly recommend this tour. Alberto and Jose were great and you’ll have the opportunity to explore places yourself while also learning a lot of context and history with the structure of a tour guide. It’s sort of the best of both worlds.
This is a wonderful way to see some great history behind the Mayan culture some of the ruins/pyramids and cenotes. I LOVE THE CE-Notes but THEY MUST RECOMMEND PEOPLE WEAR SWIM SHOES because you are not allowed to walk to the Ce-note with shoes unless you have on swim shoes.. The rubber mats located where you have to change into swim wear and the sidewalk/ground that you have to walk on to get to the Ce-note were VERY UNCOMFORTABLE😒..
Davide was very knowledgeable & funny. He was passionate about te Mayan's & the Yucatan region. The Cenote was a must do, Izmal was nice but Chichen Itza is spectacular. Pity place is overrun with souvenir stalls that really spoils the effect.
Carlos as a barracks sergeant made sure everyone was on time at each destination. He credited him with being able to arrive in time in Chichen it za. No more flowers I can't make to the lord, when you get to itzamal follow him for venison tacos. That they're 100%. Grab a snow that's actually better than Columbus's.
All around beautiful experience! Awesome and very knowledgeable tour guides. I loved listening about the culture and history. The food was Soo good 🤤 I miss it already lol. My kids had a blast jumping in the Cenote! Simply an Unforgettable experience! Thank you to everyone involved in making our tour awesome!
Do not book this tour if your main desire is to see Chichen Itza, you essentially spend most of the day in Izamal and the Cenote before being rushed around the archeological site with no time to see even half of it, if that. We were told we would have a whole hour to explore Chichen Itza by ourselves, what we were not told is that even though the site technically closes at 5pm all tourists are encouraged to start leaving at 4:30pm with major parts of the site closed off, therefore giving you about 30 mins to see everything. If you wish to actually experience Chichen Itza my advice would be to break off from the tour group the moment you get inside the gates and meet them at the bus later. Or book an entirely different tour.
Good experience and tour guide was very knowledgable and very willing to share. Seen the most beautiful thing in the world.
It's a long day but we covered a lot of distance. Enough time at each location and nice lunch. The cenote was great fun and Chichen Itza was amazing
Our driver was great and very knowledgeable, although I suppose i didnt realize that all the tickets were not included in the tour.
