Itinerario

Entrada incluida180 min

Lovely experience

Our guide met us in time and we joined another family for this2 hour tour sampling olives, nuts, fried potatoes, snails and sweet treats . We then sat at a street side restaurant just before sun down where locals were breaking their Ramadan fast and we had exactly what they had. This was very special.

Great Tour, Wonderful Experience

This tour offers a number of different tastings, and they are diverse. All of the food stops were clean, and delicious. I highly recommend this for anybody traveling to Marrakech. Come hungry, the portions are very generous.

Marrakech food tour

The tour was very good and our guide provided lots of information and more than enough food to try. We visited a number of different stalls where we sampled a variety of food stuffs that we would not have discovered on our own.

Fantastic Cultural Experience in Marrakech

An unforgettable part of our trip to Marrakech. Hamza showed us some unique and not standard places to see the beauty of the area. He took us to a palace with the most amazing tiles and artistry and really showed us what the local food does for a delicious lunch. He was very knowlegable, patient with our many questions and even made sure we got some of the fantastic spices and harrisa from his favorite olive shop. If you get a change to go out with Hamsa, you will smile every minute. He is a gem and is so willing to adjust the trip to what you want to do. We covered so much in four hours! I would definitely trust him to do any tour in the area.

Not at all as advertised - do not bother, an expensive waste of time

Terrible is probably too generous. If you do take this tour ask for Hamsa as all the good reviews we were swayed by are for him. We were able to meet our guide Abdul easily at the Poste in Jemaa El-Fnaa, however he never displayed any identification or asked for our voucher - should this have been our first warning sign? We then confirmed as noted in our booking that one of our group (of two) has a vegetarian diet - well this really threw him into a spin. Abdul knew his way around the souks and the history of the Medina but little about the food history and culture or the food and ingredients - there was more time spent at a Herborist trying to be sold argan oil and massages or at a Berber carpet maker, again trying to be sold a carpet. We may have tasted less than half of what what described in the overview - we had to stop Abdul in the souk to ask about the pastries we were passing and ate lamb at the place next door to the best place in the souks for lamb! Our tagine was at a western food hall and really quite bland. So disappointing! We also did another food tour while in Marrakech (both booked in advance, before we'd left home) Flavours of Marrakech: 10 Tastings Private Food Tour which lived up to everything promised even though it had only one not so favourable review.

Our lovely guide Hamza was very informative about the Morrocan culture and food, it is not a tour for vegetarians as it is in the souks and there are various dead animals in plain view which may upset them. However, you have to embrace this tour as a meat eater and do it early on your trip then you have an insight to the food available in Marrakech.

Our guide Hamsa was a pleasure to spend time with, very knowledgeable about the local food scene and how to avoid the touristic places for the real deal. Well worth our time. The spice market is more about herbal medicine, and well worth the presentation.

We wanted to explore the 5 senses of...

We wanted to explore the 5 senses of all things Morocco and Marrakesh in a foodie perspective....we could not have been more delighted! This is a must do tour. Our guide was so graceful and amazing in his abilities to move us through the medina sampling everything from salty to sweet to meaty and savory...amazing in all ways. We had already seen some of the sights but he was able to take us through the labyrinths of perfectly peaked spices, teas and carnivore delights of all types:-. The meat section with pits roasting the lamb was absolutely amazing. After about 2 hours in the 1000 degrees of roasting the meat fell off the bone and was enough to give us two thumbs up from our neighbor Algerians...so we took a seat and followed their lead with a big chunk of lamb and finger smacking goodness! The cous cous was simply heavenly filled with clouds of flavour...I'm not sure how many hours it takes to create one of those tangines with the deliciously fresh vegetables and succulent chicken but paired with the cous cous it's simply divine! We topped off the tour with the menage or kitchen sink mix of freshly squeezed juices on the main square which could be either an excellent anti-oxidant or a super healthy energy drink. Highly recommend this tour.
