First part of tour was walking tour and was over three hours and you need to arrange your own transportation to Windsor Castle.Guide was helpful but one train was canceled and another train was delayed May want to leave the walking tour early. Unfortunately due to length of walking tour as well as train delays I Was unable to do Windsor Castle tour.
The tour around Westminster was great. I learned a lot about London history that I didn't know. Brandon was full of knowledge and knew the best places to take pictures. We did the tour of Windsor castle after, and I would not recommend doing those together. They have tours where you can do the Abbey or War rooms after the same tour, and it would be easier. Getting to Windsor by the time the tour was over was a challenge. If you do it together, make sure you know how you are going to travel to Windsor ahead of time.
The walking tour was great ! However, we had no idea that we would have to figure out our own transportation to tour the castle! We unfortunately miss the castle tour as we missed the train to get there on time.
This tour was good for the first half with Giles as the guide HOWEVER, we were the only 2 people in the tour that went on to Windsor castle. Giles tried to direct us as to which underground to go to (Paddington) is what he said, when we got there we were told NO we had to take the GWR railway to get to Windsor castle. This cost both of us 13.25 pounds EACH, PLUS the underground to Paddington, which we were not happy about and we did miss our 3pm entrance but did let us in. I do use Viator on a lots of my overseas trips, but we were both highly disappointed with them this time. If you need copies of my train tickets I can send them. We would like to be reimbursed for the train and underground tickets. Thank you.
Overall, it was a good your. Will was an OUTSTANDING guide, and made the walking tour a lot of fun. He was very informative and witty at the same time. As for the Windsor Castle portion of the tour..... It is vaguely explained that you have to find your own way to Windsor after the walking tour is complete. By the time the your was over (at which time we received our Windsor Castle tickets) we barely had enough time to navigate the train system to Windsor before it closed. I would recommend this tour if you just book the walking part. Find another tour that actually gets you to Windsor Castle if you want to see that.
Jason was a top notch guide with fantastic knowledge and a great wit to keep it interesting! He was also generous with his extra time to help us navigate the subway system to our Windsor trip ( we were 1st time riders with zero experience!) So grateful Jason! A most excellent time spent with you!
I loved learning more about Queen Victoria and how much she influenced the world. I loved hearing all the stories that Jason told, and he also recommended an excellent pub in the city. He also mentioned Fortnum and Mason which was fabulous. I wish I could live there! Jason also made our trip to Windsor so much easier!
I was really disappointed with this expedition. First when I purchased the tickets for both castles, I wasn’t made aware during my purchase that Windsor Castle was an hour away from Buckingham palace. I was made aware of this the day of the event by the tour guide who told me that my family and I had to leave early just to get Windsor Castle. I asked why and she that, she because we had to get on the underground to take us to the Paddington Station to purchase another set of tickets on our own within an hour and a half . Instead of the confusing metro system to us Americans , we then hop on a train and miss our 2:30 check in to Windsor , we decided to take an Uber which costs us $80 . We get to Windsor and the line is around 500 people in line and we went to the person in charge and showed them her our tickets to get in, she said no we do have groups , you will need to get in the back of the line . We also had a 4:45 excursion to go to as well about 45 mins away. Then hire the Uber again to get us there quicker to our next expedition. This whole situation did not only caused me so much stress and anxiety from the financial burden I had to go through to keep my family happy but also the lack of assistance and confusion that ruined my whole day. I am wondering how many times has this happened to someone else.
You didnt come on my tour.... Why leave a negative review here?
This was an amazing tour. Mike was our guide and he was phenomenal and knowledgeable too. I booked this tour because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint…so I had to write one too.
Tour was great, but we didn't get to experience the change of guards due to the marathon, they didn't tell us until we got there. But he was great and made up for it, he made a way for us to get around the marathon to see everything else. It was so great, and plus the ticket to the castle was a plus. You just have to take train to the castle, and it was worth it!!
