This was an excellent tour. Jian was friendly and personable and super knowledgeable re both the food and the local culture and history. We made about six stops covering lots of styles of Filipino-Chinese cuisine from fresh lumpia to ha gow with kalamansi chili. All fresh and delicious, and despite having done this however many hundreds of times there was never a sense he was “going through the motions”. Also, show up hungry! Potions are real 😋.
Nel was informative and pleasant. She told us about the history of the different food places that we ate. I loved the boiled pork black pepper dumplings. I would recommend the food tour.
Jian was a blast and offered an amazing experience. His knowledge and the taste he curated were top notch. We had such a great experience we recommended it to my company for future tours.
We really enjoyed this tour. Jian was very enthusiastic and was quite helpful with all of our questions. The variety of food was wonderful and everything was well paced. Plan on taking photos. We suggest pacing oneself on the food as you might explode if you eat everything. Plan on arriving hungry, with no need for dinner after!
Jian was an absolutely fantastic tour guide, but he’s much more than that - he’s a historian, cook, and foodie. I’ve done food tour in over a dozen countries and this tour was by far the best. Also, the food was amazing and there was so much of it. Jian even tailored what we tried based on what we were interested. Don’t hesitate, book your tour asap.
This was a great way to explore Chinatown while tasting the various treats it has to offer. My guide, Nel, was a wonderful host full of knowledge and personality! She was attentive to my needs and was so much fun with the various foods we ate.
This is a great option when you first arrive to sample the local foods. Definitely don’t eat before you go there was so much great tasting food. And some history along the way. Nel was a great guide 😎
We were the only ones on the tour, the guide was a little distracted, we were left alone waiting for her to return with food, food choice was good, was only 2.5hrs duration
Fantastic tour! Nel personalized the tour to my dietary preferences and was a wonderful guide. Would book again!
Not sure about all the potential tour guides available for this tour, but if you get Jian—expect to have an amazing experience! Jian was extremely knowledgeable about the food, culture, and history of the Philippines. We have taken “Foodie” tours around the world and Jian ranks among the best…highly recommend!!!
