Freya, our guide, had a great personality and obviously loved showing tourists around the city. We enjoyed all the sites especially the gardens.
I booked this tour months in advance and I should have looked more closely at the negative reviews. We got up early, paid for an Uber, and got to the meeting point 15 minutes early. Then we proceeded to stand there like idiots waiting for 45 minutes for a guide that never showed up. We tried reaching the company (Vox City International) with no avail. Then I was on the phone with someone from Viator for half an hour, and they also couldn’t reach the tour provider. Don’t even get me started about the ordeal to get a refund for a tour that never happened. Viator loves to take your money, but they sure are reluctant to give it back when they and/or their tour operators screw up. Two days after the tour that never happened, Vox City said their guide became “unexpectedly ill” (insert eye roll here) and couldn’t do the tour. They had both my phone number and email address, but made no attempt to contact me. They just left my family and I standing around in the sweltering heat, waiting for a guide they knew wasn’t coming. It was so rude and unprofessional and it completely ruined our first day in London. I will never book with this company again. It’s not worth the risk when there are so many other companies to book with who would give the customer the simple courtesy of a phone call or message when a tour guide isn’t planning to show up. And they must have a bus load of guides who suddenly fall “unexpectedly ill” because when I later looked at the reviews for this tour, there were a staggering number of reviews complaining that the guide just didn’t show up (without any communication whatsoever. No phone call, text message, email, smoke signal, carrier pigeon…). My recommendation — Don’t book this tour. Find one where at the very least the guides have the courtesy of showing up.
I wish we would’ve seen more, but given the amount of time, I suppose that wasn’t possible. Brea was really nice and informative. I enjoyed the tour and would recommend it for just a little snippet of London.
Thank you for your kind review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with Brea and found her informative and welcoming. London has so much to see, and while it's impossible to cover everything in a short tour, we're glad we could provide a memorable introduction and a great snapshot of the city. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for a longer exploration of London in the future! Many thanks, VoxCity
The tour operator never showed. We were here for 1 day and asked for a refund but the local operator provided a voucher which i cannot use since I am no longer there.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how disappointing this must have been, especially as you were only visiting for one day. We would like to better understand what happened in this situation, as this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. Our customer support team is always happy to help and investigate any issues regarding tour operations, vouchers, or refund requests. Please contact our customer support team at your earliest convenience with your booking details so we can review your case and assist you further. We appreciate the opportunity to look into this matter and work toward a resolution. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards, VoxCity
Lewis was such a great tour guide!!! My husband and I booked this tour for a good understanding of London, the history, places to check out & eat. Lewis was very insightful, explained all about the history of London and the landmarks we visited. He has such a wealth of knowledge about London that’s very admirable. If you’re looking for a tour guide, definitely ask for LEWIS - you won’t regret it! He gave us recommendations on places to visit and eat as we asked him so many questions particularly about afternoon tea. Thanks Lewis!
