When I booked this transfer, I specifically asked that I would arrive by 12 noon and I was told that it would not be a problem. The day of the pick up, the driver was late and I didn’t arrive until 12:36pm. The van was crammed and the seating were facing each other instead of row formation, making me face strangers! I don’t mind shared rides but I do mind that I had to face complete strangers when I didn’t have to. I gave this a 3 stars because it got me there, late and uncomfortable unnecessarily.

We would like to clarify a few points regarding your journey. Our driver arrived on time for the scheduled pickup. Unfortunately, the journey between London and Southampton is approximately 80 miles, and while we always plan carefully, traffic conditions are outside of our control. We sincerely apologise that you arrived later than expected. As this is a shared shuttle service with multiple pickups and drop offs, it is difficult to guarantee arrival at an exact time. While we always aim to arrive as early as possible, the service is designed to deliver passengers within the cruise terminal check in window. Cruise embarkation typically begins after 12:00 PM and continues until around 4:00 PM, allowing guests to arrive at any time during that period. For guests who need to arrive at a specific time or earlier in the day, we are always happy to offer a private transfer exclusively for their group. This allows us to agree on a pickup time that best suits their schedule and provides a more direct journey. Regarding the vehicle, a Mercedes Vito was assigned for your transfer. Although it has a capacity of up to 8 passengers, there were only 6 passengers travelling that day. We deliberately limit the number of passengers to help ensure a comfortable, door to door shared transfer experience, and the vehicle was not operating at full capacity. We also understand your comments about the seating arrangement. In the UK, many 7 and 8 passenger Mercedes vans are configured with seats facing each other. We appreciate that this layout is not everyone’s preference. If we had been aware of your preference, we would have been happy to offer you the front passenger seat whenever available to make your journey more comfortable. We would also like to mention that we operate other vehicles with all forward facing seats, and we will do our best to accommodate this preference if requested in advance, subject to availability. The pickup was late. We missed our boarding window on the ship. There wasn’t room for luggage in the back we hadn’t all sit riding backwards as others were added to the trip late and were on the transfer when we were picked up Also said the trip duration was 90 minutes but took 2.5 hours on a Saturday

Under normal traffic conditions, the journey typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. We do not advertise this route as a 90-minute transfer, as such a journey time would not be realistic given the distance and typical London traffic conditions. For this journey, a Mercedes V-Class vehicle was provided and operated within the advertised capacity of the shared shuttle service. The vehicle carried a maximum of six passengers, as stated in the product description, and luggage was accommodated accordingly. We are also concerned by the comment regarding the boarding window. As Southampton cruise terminals generally recommend arriving well in advance of embarkation deadlines, passengers should allow sufficient travel time based on the actual journey duration of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. We cannot comment on where the 90-minute estimate originated, as this is not information provided by our company or within our product description.
