Ely was a great guide. She was personable and quite knowledgable. You could tell she loved history and she went deep on telling us about what we were seeing. It was a great overview for us to go back and see more.
It was fun. The guide was on time, very knowledgeable, witty and cordial. 2hrs is hardly enough to do justice to this museum, to it saps energy.
Elisabetta was knowledgeable and engaging and made the British Museum feel cosy and intimate with her vast knowledge
Luca was very knowledgable but possibly did not gauge the interest of his audience. Lack of awareness of the priority to be given to different exhibits, given the short time of the tour. If his tour audience was not interested in an exhibit, he should move on to the next exhibit. Do not do his planned guide tour.
TERRIBLE guide! The worst I’ve ever paid for. Filomena has a thick Eastern European accent, and even when we could understand her, her descriptions were jumbled/not clear or interesting. Absolutely disappointed in her and the (lack of) customer service - we left the tour after 20 minutes as it was so bad, but were told by Viator “no refund tough luck” (We are native English speakers. Our difficulty was due to her accent.)
I was there with my family and had a great experience with them we booked the British Museum tour and Changing of the guards, was the best tour we had, and we did a lot of tours around Europe and Asia
It was very good, our guide Luca was extremely informative. We enjoyed the tour, it was very useful having a guide to show the highlights of the museum. The museum was very large and very crowded so having him navigate it for us made it easier.
I highly recommend the British Museum guided tour with Filomena from Know Your Guide. The British Museum can feel overwhelming because of the sheer number of artefacts on display. What made this tour exceptional was Filomena's ability to give context and bring the objects to life. She didn't simply describe what we were looking at; she presented them from unconventional and thought-provoking perspectives, connecting history, culture and the people behind the artefacts in a way that kept us engaged throughout. Her knowledge was outstanding, and her enthusiasm was infectious. By the end of the tour, I wasn't just leaving with more information—I was leaving with a greater curiosity to read, learn and understand the civilisations we had explored. If you're looking for a guide who transforms a museum visit into an enriching journey through history, I would highly recommend Filomena. She was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our visit to the British Museum.
Our guide, Luca, was fantastic!! He was knowledgeable, engaging and informative. We got so much more from our visit through the tour. Luckily really encouraged my daughter to actively participate, which was lovely. Well worth the cost - it added souch to the experience for us both.
Despite the crowds, worth visiting. Plan your visit with a guide. Our guide Filomena made history come back to life with her enthusiasm.
