While the hike is beautiful, 5 hours was really not enough time to enjoy the views and have a decent rest at the halfway mark (the waterfall). I came away very sore due to my having to rush back to make it in time. The guide had not explained that the second half of the track was closed and we would be returning on the same path, leaving me unsure and worried that I was doing the wrong thing. I wasn't able to confirm this with him as I had no internet. Also, starting the walk with a headache, due to car sickness was not ideal.

The trip to the start of the hike was smooth and we got clear instructions from our driver Fabio on how to begin the walk and the plan for pick up. He was really friendly, kind and punctual. Great communication throughout the whole process!The hike itself was beautiful with several waterfalls, lush greenery, mountain views and a path along a levada. Would use this company again.

The hike at Caldeirao was closed but the tour operator provided Levada do Rei as alternative. I enjoyed the Levada do Rei hike. Mainly on flat ground, along a stream leading to a magnificent waterfall at the end (be warned it was wet). The ground was muddy but still worth the experience! Our driver Fabio was nice, laid back and eager to help, also negotiated the narrow, steep streets of Funchal expertly. I would recommend this hike.

Very good walk, the start was a bit bland, but after initial walk down tarmac path it got better and better The walk was changed as initial Levada was closed but well informed Andre picked us up from hotel and dropped us off and picked us up, was very good

We done PR6.2 & PR6.3 instead as this one was closed. Really enjoyed the trails, even in the rain! Our driver Vitor was very helpful and made sure we had all the information about the trail before starting.

Despite the rain and wind it was a wonderful nature experience! The paths were well maintained and despite the steep climbs it was possible to get around! The transport back and forth from Ribeira Brava was comfortable and safe!
