Guide had good knowledge of the local food outlets. We did notice that some outlet owners were not very friendly towards us and the guide...perhaps they were expecting a greater purchase.
I spent a wonderful morning with NEEM as my guide. She showed me many tastings that I would normally have not tried on my own as Neem knew all the right places to take me to try different foods snd drinks. 10 out of 10 to Neem. If I was living in K.L , I rekon Neem & I could be Besties! Both lovers of good food and an interest in cooking too. Thankyou Neem for a great morning. A most memorable tour and Tour Guide.
Lots of yummy food to try. Arrive hungry. If you want to try a number of Chinese dishes in KL, this is the food tour to take. Neem did a great job; she's very personable.
The food is totally delicious and wonderful! It’s also not that much walking - but it is super hot. Neem our guide was very sweet and helpful. She took us to amazing places and let us take our time.
This was a great walking tour through Central Market and Chinatown. The food was amazing and the tour guide, Neem, was great. Also got to see some of the street art which was great. Come hungry because there is a lot of food to try on the tour!
Neem was an excellent guide. I learnt so much from her and had a lot to eat in the process. I learnt about history, food and life in Malaysia. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
This tour was great fun! I'd booked a food tour of Chinatown with another operator who cancelled on me because I was the only participant. That was not an issue with Chefs Tour! I had Neem, the lovely guide, all to myself. It was more like two friends having lunch than doing a tour. The food was so plentiful I literally rolled back to my hotel for a nap. It was a delicious variety of lots of really awesome food. Highly recommend this tour!
This was my first food tour with A Chef's Tour and it was so good, I went on to do another two! We had Neem as our main guide but the owner and founder also joined for lots of it so we felt extra special. Both of them were brilliant guides, super friendly and knowledgeable, got everyone at ease quickly in our small group and made the tour really enjoyable. We tried delicious food and feel like I got to learn a huge amount about the food, culture and history. Can really see (in every tour I did) how they have spent time getting to know and support the owners of each small, properly local venue. It's such value for money with the amount of food you get. Never felt rushed, had time to ask questions and chat with others in the group. Thank you!
Kuala Lumpur has some of the best food in the world, but it’s hard to know where to start. Luckily, Laksa Lane exists to give an amazing overview of the food scene in Chinatown. The architect of the tour, Siiduz says that it took him six months to pick the restaurants for the tour and the hard work shows. Each of the dozen or so restaurants and stalls is a small business that provides a unique gustatory experience, and includes two Michlein Guide Bib Gourmand restaurants. From clam noodles to cendol to chicken rice to mochi, the food is top notch. Also, our tour guide, Neem, was very kind and knowledgeable. Besides the food, there are visits to two temples and you learn quite a bit about Malaysian culture and history. All in all, this is an amazing food tour and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Book it ASAP!
Overall, I had a great experience on this food tour! It included a TON of food, and many of the dishes were things I never would have thought or known to try on my own. Everything was delicious, featuring a variety between sweet and savory dishes. The absolute standout for me was the lala noodles. They were easily the best thing I ate during my entire time in Kuala Lumpur! Our guide, Neem, was wonderful. It ended up being just my husband and me on the tour, and having that intimate, personalized experience made it even better. She was incredibly friendly, warm, and knowledgeable, chatting with us throughout the entire tour and providing background information about everything we ate. Logistically, the walking distance was manageable (~2.5 miles/4 km) and most of the food stops were located close to one another, so you get to focus entirely on the food and the atmosphere rather than a long trek. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting KL. Come hungry!
