James was a great tour guide and we really enjoyed the tour. Cycling through the rural villages is a different way to see Uganda and I’d highly recommend it. Bikes were in good working condition and helmets were provided.
The morning starts with a 20 minute boat ride to a rural peninsula. You will ride about 30 km about half and half on dirt roads and dirt paths. You go through meadows, jungle, even on a beach for a bit! It's a lot of fun and a great workout. Stop whenever you want to get photos or have a drink. There is a snack stop, and you can stop and pick a fresh guava right off the tree. It's fun waving to the happy children who shout "hello!" and wave. The guides are very friendly and patient. It rained the day we went and we got pretty muddy, so keep the weather in mind. The same boat ride back to the start at the end.
I had a superb day cycling with my guide Shedrack. Pre-tour communication was efficient and responsive (WhatsApp), the hotel pickup on time, and the bike (hardtail Avalanche) was in great condition. Shedrack customised the route & distance to suit my preferences, incorporating a wonderful mix of jungle, shoreline, tea plantations, rural farms, and villages (single track and gravel). The birdlife on the tour was incredible, and he was generous with his insight into Ugandan birds and wildlife. The lunch stop (Rolex) hit the spot and we finished with an ice cold drink at one of the lakeside resorts. Thank you Shedrack for a fun and memorable adventure on two wheels! Highly recommend.
We had a great time with Shedrack and Achilles, the bikes were working well and the views were stunning!
Amazing experience you should try it out
Had a wonderful first day in Uganda with Shedrack. He hooked me up with an e bike as the company is soon to introduce these, which was the perfect solution to a muddy ride after the morning rain. He paid attention to my abilities as a rider and was so willing to take pictures for the duration of the tour.
Well organised from start to finish. Michael the guide had great knowledge of the route, the local people and the land and its economy. The bike a Giant was good quality and well maintained. I would recommend them after such a good experience.
Ronald was excellent and best guide. Always joking with us. That was my ideal trip ...i would recommend it to everyone to make my trip...
My bicycle trip in Uganda was a genuinely memorable experience. The scenery was beautiful throughout—lush landscapes, wide open stretches, and a real sense of being immersed in nature. Michael, my guide, was exceptionally kind and attentive. He did a great job keeping an appropriate pace, checking in regularly, and offering support whenever it was needed. His calm, considerate approach made the ride feel comfortable and well-organized from start to finish. One of the highlights was riding through local villages and having the chance to interact with people along the way. It added a meaningful cultural element to the trip and made the experience feel authentic rather than purely scenic. The birding was also outstanding, plenty of sightings and a great variety that made every day feel special. Overall, it was a lovely, well-supported cycling adventure that combined beautiful nature, genuine community encounters, and excellent birdwatching.
Had a fantastic half day tour with my guide James. The bike was in pristine condition, lots of gears, pumped up wheels - essentially new. I was given a helmet too. I felt safe at all times. We spent 3 hours riding round the various trails. I’m definitely more of a leisurely cyclist but James didn’t mind at all, he even encouraged me to get walk with the bike if I needed to on some of the hillier/slippery parts. The nature was super beautiful. Plantations, forests, beach. An added bonus was experiencing James’ friendly relationships with the locals and children. And a yummy rolex to top everything off! Would highly recommend this tour as a way of seeing more of Uganda outside the bustling city
