Nuestra aventura comienza en Ponta da Piedade, una joya impresionante a lo largo de la costa del Algarve. Pero uno de los verdaderos aspectos destacados es la impresionante vista del Faro de Alfanzina desde el océano. De pie orgulloso en lo alto de los acantilados, este icónico faro es aún más impresionante desde el agua. ¿Y la verdadera magia? Debajo de ella se encuentra una cueva oculta masiva, una que no solo admiramos desde lejos, ¡sino que en realidad nos aventuramos dentro! El contraste de luz y sombra, el eco de las olas y la escala de esta maravilla natural la convierten en un momento inolvidable de nuestro viaje.
Por fin llegamos a la joya de la corona del Algarve, ¡el Algar de Benagil, uno de los destinos más impresionantes y solicitados de Portugal! Esta impresionante cueva marina, con sus imponentes paredes doradas y su icónica cúpula iluminada por el sol, se siente como una catedral escondida tallada por la propia naturaleza. La anticipación se acumula a medida que nos acercamos, y una vez dentro, la magia se desarrolla verdaderamente. Daremos un refrescante baño en su mar turquesa, empapándonos de la belleza de nuestro entorno. Luego, nos relajaremos a bordo con deliciosos bocadillos, saboreando los últimos momentos de este inolvidable viaje antes de regresar a Lagos. ¡Es el final perfecto para una aventura épica!
(Parada adicional opcional) Esta actividad adicional opcional incluye una parada en el estuario del Alvor, un entorno natural único en el Algarve. Our Algarve on Board experience was exceptional. Max has a genuine, intuitive sense for hospitality. Rather than simply guiding the tour, he made us feel like welcome guests. From the playlist to the picnic basket and fresh fruit, every detail felt thoughtfully considered. The entire experience was relaxed, refined, and effortlessly enjoyable. Thank you, Max, for a wonderful day on the water. We would happily do it again.
To start, I’d like to share that I would highly recommend engaging the company (and Max) for your boat trips in Lagos even though my family didn’t get a chance to enjoy as the weather (specifically the wind which is blowing at over 30knts) didn’t permit us to do so. My daughter was amazed by the potholes over the cost of Algarve and hence I tried to do a search for similar tours. Being a skipper myself, I am also thrilled by the chance to roam around the beautiful coast under the blazing sun with a chance to swim in a secluded bay… hence, I contacted Algarve on Board for the excursion. It is definitely not the most economical ones and I took that chance as the review has been very positive. We paid everything in-advance for the 4-hour trip and the owner-operator Max had been very helpful in preparing us for the trip a few days before via email. The scheduled date was a sunny July afternoon in Lagos but the wind was really blowing hard (up to 30knts even inshore) which we can feel onshore. Max contacted me in the morning, a few hours before the meeting time, to explain to me about the weather conditions and offer to reschedule to another date for he believed it wouldn’t be too comfortable for the family given the strong wind and high waves out at the sea that afternoon. Unfortunately, it was our last day in Lagos and it wasn’t possible for us to reschedule our flights the next day to accommodate this excursion hence Max offered for a less extensive ride for us but that means we would miss visiting the most breathtaking sea cave “Algar de Benagil” (among other beautiful and unknown ones too) from water hence we chatted, discussed, and tried to explore other possibilities and finally Max had kindly proposed to cancel the trip with a full refund. This is a very professional and responsible call as Max wouldn’t want to disappoint us while taking us onboard under rough weather conditions and even if we insisted to go onboard, it wouldn’t be enjoyable for all of us either. I highly recommend Max for his professionalism and client-centric mind set especially putting the health and safety of participants at the top… he is a real skipper. I’d hope to come back to Lagos and sail with him hopefully sometime real soon. PS1. Suggest to schedule your boat trips not on the last day of your stay as weather might not work in your favour and ruin your plans. PS2. From chatting with Max, I learnt that he is an avid sailor having sailed across the Atlantic a few times and in the Caribbeans plus of course the Mediterranean too! Amazing experiences and definitely would be extremely colourful when you get a chance to exchange with him. I’m looking forward to a charter with him in the Mediterranean!

This was one of the best days we had in Portugal. Our guide Max was excellent. We had plenty of time to swim. Look at all the caves had a great lunch. He was knowledgeable and personable. The boat was very clean and comfortable. This is a tour you do not want to miss it exceeded our expectations.

We had an amazing day with Max as our guide. He met us and was instantly easy to get along with and fun. Take this tour!!! You won’t be disappointed. Max did not rush us with anything that we wanted to do and took us to see all the amazing sites and caves. We had plenty of time to swim and eat delicious food and drinks. The boat was very clean and comfortable and smooth on the ocean. You will get terrific pictures. Max will be your personal photographer and sent them to us in a timely manner. Our tour was great. Max was the perfect captain with lots of knowledge, great driving, and the perfect personality for a great day. We saw many sea caves and also got plenty of chill time to swim and have some wine/snacks. Boat was very comfortable and navigated the water very well. My family and I had an amazing time on board. Max makes sure everyone feels included while explaining everything that is to know and everything that is to see in Algarve. It was a condensed visit of all the points of interest without a single hustle, which was perfect with a toddler that is not up for any time of hiking under the sun. He was very accommodating, even when we asked for a quick swim inside a cave. We had little time to enjoy the picnic, but it was totally worth it because we really wanted to enjoy the water a little more. Thank you, Max! We made some core memories nesse passeio!

This afternoon boat trip with Max was outstanding! He had a wonderful basket of snacks, as well as water, sodas and wine available for us. Max was very knowledgeable about the coastline and he was able to take us inside many cave entrances! Even though the waters were a little choppy (but totally worth it for the views!), he constantly checked in with us to make sure we were ok. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Algarve on Board! In case you want to know, we were a group of 4 women in their late 50’s from the USA.
