This private tour was excellently arranged by Inti Travels. No hassle drive to Copacabana and a boat over to Isla del Sol. High elevation doesn’t allow us to run around the whole island, but we got to see some Inca sites. Ascent to the local village took a while, but it was worth it. We got to see the beautiful sunset over Lago Titicaca. Our hostess Sonia took good care of us in our accommodation. Next morning the beautiful sunrise over Isla de la Luna started the day. Boat over to Copacabana to see local Saturday life. Our amazing tour guide Juan explained the things and traditions we saw in the local market and by the church, where a wedding was ongoing. After lunch a drive back to La Paz. I can strongly recommend this trip. On the hindsight we could have stayed one night more in Isla del Sol or Copacabana.
We asked for a combination of Lago Titicaca and Tiwanaku and get an offer. Unsure if it will be what we expect, we were picked up at our hotel in La Paz and had the greatest two days of our trip! The bilingual guide (Juan) explained a lot about the cultures in the country and was always here to answer any kind of questions. This was also possible because beside him, we also had a driver. The accomondation was great (very calm on the Isla del Sol) and the food always "muy muy rico". Thanks to our guide for amazing days. Route: La Paz - Copacabana - Isla del Sol (night) - Copacabana - Tiwanaku - La Paz.
Thank you for taking the time to share your nice feedback. We are so grateful.
This experience was not up to Viator's minimal standards. The itinerary was well planned as described but the actual tour was poor because of an inept tour guide who was unfamiliar with the basic tour components, such where to get off of boat, hours of operation, trails to follow, inaccurate information. But most of all the guide put us on a over loaded boat, with 37 passengers with five life jackets across the largest lake in Latin America. The guide was aware of the danger. He did not study up on the historical sites highlighted on the trip. Other dangerous situations also occurred such as walking down steps and an uneven path without any flashlight. We are lucky we are alive. Even the driver seemed to lack safety concerns.
Hi, we apologize for your experience, and we talk about those facts with the guide and he told us that you enjoy the tour, even at the final of the tour yu gave him 300 BOB = 50 USD as a TIP, and you told him that you enjoy the tour. we think for the experience when you don't like the job of the guide you don't give a tip or told him that everything was nice. The only problem was the bote from Isla del Sol to Copacabana, the only way to go out from the island is to take the local boat, if you didn't take the boat at this time, you need to wait until 4:00 p.m. Guide tried to explain you. Then we gave you everything that is in the itinerary. Our driver has more than 15 years on the route from La Paz to Copacabana, it's not true that he drives badly. Again sorry from us, if this tour was not as you hope, but we give all of us for to give you the best food, a secure private car, an experienced guide, clean hotels and so. Thanks.
