Our host welcomed us into her home and has a passion for cooking. We had appetizers and made gnocchi, which were both delicious! I would definitely recommend this experience!
We had a fabulous morning with Donata cooking a 3 course meal. Donata was friendly, funny and welcoming to my family and I and a wonderful host. She welcomed us into her home with warmth. We learnt about traditional liguarian meals and food. We made traditional fried bread, gnocchi and tiramisu and ate it for lunch with a glass of Prosecco and an incredible view of the mountains Donata took the time to show us her vegetable patch and chicken coop It did feel like for of a cooking experience than a class, but in the end that didn't matter as we had a such a great time in the hills of La Spezia Worth noting that you may need to get a taxi to get to Donata's home however she was very helpful in booking us a taxi to get back to our accommodation in the city centre
fun, enjoyable, easy and ladies were great. food delicious. wonderful experience and lots of food to eat
We had a wonderful time taking the pasta and tiramisu class! It was fun, engaging, and very informative. The instructor, Anna, was knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable and easy to follow. We learned some great techniques and, of course, got to enjoy some delicious pasta and tiramisu. Highly recommended!
Daniela was a perfect hostess. Everything we learned to make was delicious and we can't wait to make it again at home. She introduced us to a new dish called Sgabei, we made gnocchi and tiramisu. We would 100% recommend this experience and we would do it again with Daniela if we are ever back in the area. Don't hesitate - book this today!
This is the excursion you brag about to your friends. The one where you’re in the beautiful home of a local Italian family, learning their grandparents recipes, meeting their pets, sample fruit from their trees. The one where you ask yourself “why don’t we make gnocchi as a family every Sunday?” and reconnect with a calm way of life. Elisa was wonderful. Her home is exactly what you’d imagine. Her family was warm and welcoming. The conversation was diverse and rich, and the language barrier made it all the more fun and interesting. And of course, the food was incredible. If you are cruising, I recommend arranging transportation at the port. The taxi situation is a bit hectic.
The hostess was amazing! She was so hospitable and kind. The whole experience was just so awesome! Learning from an experienced Italian cook was the best! Thank you Daniella
My family and I traveled to La Spezia on a Royal Caribbean cruise of the Mediterranean and decided to book a local excursion through Viator. This pasta making class was amazing!! We were given all the info for our host, Donata, and her address the night before. We took a short 15 minute taxi drive to Donata's house which was beautiful both inside and out. We were greeted warmly and immediately started the adventure of cooking: tiramisu, potato gnocchi and a delicious sgabei. Once complete, we sat outside on Donata's terrace enjoying our delicious creations. Included in the meal was Prosecco and coffee. We were offered Limoncello but we politely declined as all of us were stuffed full of delicious Italian food. We were able to tour Donata's property which includes amazing fruit trees, lots of home grown vegetables and herbs, and a chicken coop. The view of the ocean from the terrace was breath-taking. As our class was wrapping up, Donata's husband Claudio offered us a ride back to the port. Overall, this was the best excursion and experience. Donata was absolutely amazing as a host, teacher and chef. I would highly recommend this excursion and hope you experience Donata's warm hospitality and her delicious Italian recipes.
Best experience we have had so far on our 3-week Europe trip. A once in a lifetime experience, kindest people ever, best pasta I have ever had, and will never forget the tiramisu. If you can, DO THIS! So special and would recommend it to anyone. 10/10.
It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Roberta, our host, was lovely, and her home very charming. The cooking was easy to follow and the food absolutely delicious! I’d give it more stars if I could.
