Nordic Unique Travels is one of the rare (if not the only one) agencies, offering this tour in June. Although they say "picking berries is not guaranteed - depending on the season" - they should know and correctly advertise what is the season for picking berries. Seasons are different in my country and I can't know when the berries are ripe in Finland forests. You can't find berries anywhere in the Lapland forests in June. Other agencies provide a list which berries would be ready for picking in which month. Nordic Unique Travels does not. Other agencies do not offer this tour in June and Nordic Unique Travels does - why the deceipt? Our tour was on 27th June and we did not see even one ripe berry.

We understand that you were hoping to pick ripe berries during your visit. As mentioned in our tour description, berry and mushroom picking is not guaranteed and depends entirely on the natural season. The timing of berry ripening in Finnish Lapland varies each year according to weather conditions, which is why we cannot promise that ripe berries will be available on every tour. During your tour, our guide explained the seasonal situation and showed the cloudberry plants in bloom, as well as mushrooms growing in the forest. While they were not ready for harvesting, we hope this still offered an authentic glimpse into the Arctic summer and the unique nature of Lapland. We appreciate your suggestion regarding providing more seasonal information before booking. It was a fun and lightweight experience, we went up the towery and got to see the whole forest. The lunch along side the river was relaxing after the journey. Giselle was quite joyful and friendly. We enjoyed the trip with her
The forests of Lapland are super beautiful! Like a dream place where the Moomin family will emerge. Guidance Jiji (and colleague Jeffrey), kind and professional, let us enjoy a wonderful forest trip.
It was a 2.5km hike in the forest (along a trail) then a break for campfire followed by another 2km hike to the starting point (loop). Unfortunately it seemed like it wasn’t yet the season for berries. We saw a handful of berries but they were small and green, apparently too early by a few weeks to pick. There were no mushrooms at all as we found out they would come maybe a month after berries. Campfire was enjoyable where we roasted sausages, corn and marshmallows and had blueberry juice. Tip: mosquito repellent is a must
I can imagine it could have been a nice tour experience, but due to schedule changes we couldn't take part on that tour which is a bit sad, but is not bad at all, I'm happy we got another option which we could use for a superb tour with hiking & a tasty bbq!
We had an amazing day with our guides Gigi and Joey. They entertained us with great stories about the wilderness and Lappland throughout the whole trip. The forest they picked for us was magical, filled with blueberries in every corner. Apparently we came in just the right season. We even found some of the really rare cloudberries. I highly recommend the experience.
Although there were hardly any berries left due to the onset of winter, the trail past the rapids to the observation tower was beautiful. The weather was also on our side, of course. Chris, the guide, was also very good and told stories and gave information in a very pleasant manner.
Our group spent 7 days in Lapland in the summer and we had a great experience. Our guide Matthias was the best. He was patient, kind and knowledgeable. He made our experience grand.
