Viajar al DOQ Priorat desde Barcelona se siente como una verdadera expedición de vinos en la que, de repente, abandonamos nuestra realidad para sumergirnos en un entorno aislado del tiempo. Una realidad paralela llena de vino. ¡No suena nada mal!
El paisaje del Priorat está compuesto por colinas mediterráneas pendientes, caminos sinuosos que recientemente fueron pavimentados, y pequeños pueblos abandonados rodeados de viñedos y bodegas. Gracias a la visión de un grupo de enólogos a finales de los 80 y al arduo trabajo de muchas mujeres y hombres, el Priorat hoy en día produce algunos de los vinos más prestigiosos del mundo. Su fórmula es la mejor: viñas muy viejas, pequeñas producciones, clima seco y una cultura vitivinícola casi religiosa. La obsesión de los productores locales de esta región ha transformado a El Priorat. ¿Qué era un área económicamente desfavorecida? donde cultivar uvas sin cuidado en grandes cantidades es ahora un santuario del vino. Aquí, las producciones son tan bajas que muy a menudo los enólogos embotellan las uvas de un único viñedo para hacer un gran vino que difiere de la del próximo viñedo en las formas más interesantes.

My husband and I booked two private wine tours from Barcelona with Castlexperience. Both tours were outstanding and worth the cost. The guides, Victor and Javi, were personable and very knowledgeable about wine. By the time the tours were over, we felt like they were our friends. We've traveled all over the world, and the lunches on the tours were some of the best we've ever had. We enjoyed learning about the local grapes as well as the process for making cava. The wineries we visited provided high quality samples with no pressure to buy, but we ended up buying a few bottles to take home and also shipped some bottles to the U.S. Thank you Castlexperience!

Discussing wine production with the Vintner while in the vineyard. Very knowledgeable. Really became aware of the complications of preparing wine... truly scientific and artful because conditions are different very year. The tasting was also very personal with the Vintner discussing the the taste of the wine as we ate different cheeses and bread. Been on many wine tours but i learned more on this tour than any others.

Our guide Pol was outstanding and the perfect host. Both wineries were hospitable, insightful, educational and fun. Dual winery was exceptional. We would highly recommend this as it was the highlight of our vacation. Not cheap but well worth the expense.

To make it short: Luis is a great gude, we got one of our best tours and felt always save and a bit like VIP. Organizational highlight was to get a timeslott for the black madonna ;) All stories told were interesting and all questions answered well, thx again, Luis!
