We had a fantastic time in Osaka & Kyoto with Marin. It was a full on day, but we managed to visit Arashiyama, Bamboo Forest, the Golden temple & Kyoto, including the old town & ‘no nails’ temple. Our favourite day in Japan by far. Definitely recommend this tour!
Malin was an excellent guide. She customized our tour to the places we wanted to see. She was able to navigate the trains that took us from place to place in a way that a tourist couldn’t do All of that with a most pleasant personality
We saw it all. What an Incredible experience. Kyoto was fantastic. The best part was how sweat and knowledgeable our guide Marin was. We learned so much from her. I highly recommend this tour.
Senji was a great guide, tailored our experience as requested. He was very helpful in locating a cash machine for us to withdrawal yen (we should have had some prior to the day!)
This was an excellent day tour with the family. Our guide, Shinji was excellent. Would highly recommend
This is an excellent way to tour Kyoto! Marin was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, flexible and overall efficient in making the best use of our time. She was also a gifted photographer and knows all the best places for photos. We travelled with my almost 2 yr old son and 75 yr old mother. She was patient and adjust to our needs. She went above and beyond and even helped us shop for matcha tea and assisted with our bags. Last but not the least, she helped us recover our stroller which we forgot in the taxi the day before. Highly recommend this tour! If you can request for Marin, do it!
Singji, our guide, spoke English very poorly and with a limited vocabulary. He had great difficulty understanding us when we spoke to him. Offered very little information as we were going places. Mostly just answered our few questions and had difficulty doing that. Consequently we were unable to ask many of the questions we wanted to. This took away from the enjoyment of the tour. When we walked around, he walked very quickly in front of us. Twice we had to call his name because he had gotten too far ahead. At one point he got off the train and didn’t even look to see if we were with him, which we weren’t. The spots we saw were wonderful, but his usefulness was mostly in getting us to and from places. We had to read the signs at the stops to really learn anything. He seemed nice, but should not be leading groups who only speak English.
We had the pleasure of spending our ninth day in Kyoto with a private guide, and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made on our trip. Our guide was truly exceptional – knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly thoughtful in tailoring the day to suit both the adults and the kids. She brought Kyoto’s rich history and culture to life in a way that was engaging and easy to understand, and she made sure we experienced a wonderful balance of iconic sights and hidden gems. She handled everything with such calm professionalism, from navigating busy streets to explaining temple etiquette, answering all our questions with patience and passion. Her genuine love for the city really shone through. I can’t recommend her highly enough – she made our day in Kyoto stress-free, meaningful, and unforgettable. If you’re considering a guided experience in Kyoto, this is the way to do it!
This was a very comprehensive and interesting tour. We opted to use a van so that we could see more, and it worked out great. Shoji also sent us lots of pictures that he took. Our only wish is that his English was a bit better so we could have learned more. Otherwise, great day! Thanks!
Guide Shinji was wonderful! He was so sweet and showed us so many good spots and took so many lovely photos of my friend and I. he knew so much history and even helped us get our coin back after it got stuck in one of the dispensers. What a wonderful experience.
