Batu Caves es una atracción turística icónica y popular en Selangor. Sitio de un templo y santuario hindú, Batu Caves atrae a miles de fieles y turistas, especialmente durante el festival hindú anual, Thaipusam. Un afloramiento de piedra caliza ubicado al norte de Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves tiene tres cuevas principales con templos y santuarios hindúes. Su atracción principal es la gran estatua del dios hindú en la entrada, además de una empinada subida por sus escalones para finalmente ver el impresionante horizonte del centro de la ciudad. Los monos se divierten alrededor de las cuevas, y es un lugar popular para los entusiastas de la escalada en roca. Pinturas y escenas de dioses hindúes también se pueden ver en la cueva de Ramayana.
El Templo Sri Shakti es el único templo en el mundo donde se instalaron las manifestaciones de los 51 Shaktisare. Intercalados conscientemente dentro de este espacio hay 96 pilares tallados que representan los 96 principios universales del hinduismo. Rodeada por una enorme pared decorativa, la entrada al templo es a través de una magnífica Raja Gopuram (torre de varios niveles). Elevándose a una altura de 74 pies, el Raja Gopuram de 5 niveles es una orgullosa proclamación de los tesoros arquitectónicos en su interior. La entrada principal del templo comprende marcos de granito esculpidos de 18 pies de alto que pesan hasta 4 toneladas, tallados por hábiles artesanos de la antigua ciudad de Mahabalipuram en Tamil Nadu, India.

Aparentemente, también pueden brillar durante el día, pero los humanos no pueden verlo. Solo se los ve de noche en y a lo largo de los árboles 'Berembang' a lo largo del río Selangor. No pudimos ver ninguno en las palmeras ni en ningún otro árbol. A menudo, su parpadeo se sincroniza, el efecto general es como las luces parpadeantes de un árbol de Navidad. Un viaje a lo largo de las orillas del río Selangor por la noche es realmente magnífico, y definitivamente una gran atracción que no debe perderse. Hay un par de buenos restaurantes donde sirven principalmente mariscos frescos. Restoran Kuala Selangor es donde disfrutamos de una comida local muy agradable en Pasir Penambang (1A, Jalan Bagan Sungei Yu). I wish there was the option to give 0 stars as 1 is too generous. It was the 4th tour I did in KL so I know that what we got is not a general standard here. The activity provider RIYAS adventure time didn't get in touch ahead of the trip and didn't reply to my message either. The driver (who never introduced himself) texted me 15 minutes before our scheduled departure. I am not 100% sure, as his English was VERY basic (and it's not my mother's tongue either so I am not too demanding), but I believe that he expected us to depart asap. The actual trip was something else. Perhaps due to the language barrier, there was minimal information provided. We didn't know where we were going or what will happen next. At around 5:30 we arrived at a Chinese restaurant. Putting aside the "quality" of the food as well as the fact that the ice in the drink was not the factory made one, we finished our meal, played on our phones waiting for the Driver, and then decided to find the driver to tell him that we were ready to depart. It was after 6pm. The Driver told us that it was too early and we had to wait till 7:30!!!! So we waited. We were the first tourists there but later on the place filled with others. After 7:15 the groups started to disappear. We again decided to find our Driver. On our way we bumped into Rin, our driver from the day before (a 5 star trip to Melaka with Wutz holiday, a different company). He showed us the point of departure to firefly experience. His group was gone already. When we discovered the Driver he said that it was too early to go!!!!! because it wasn't dark enough (it was well past sunset) and that the only boats departing now were for eagle feeding experience!!!, which we could do for an extra 50 each!!!! Otherwise we would need to spend another half an hour in the restaurant!!!! It was the last straw. I called the activity provider, and after raising my voice for a few minutes, the Driver magically produced the tickets for the firefly boat which was about to depart! We had to search for the Driver after we returned but we got used to it at that point and just wanted go back to our hotel. The long story short, stay clear of RIYAS adventure time. They should not be allowed to operate in the tourism industry.
Not a great experience - lots of mosquito and a very short tour. The ourney from the hotel to the tour area and during the way were not clear.
My friend and I loved all the stops on the way to the firefly location. And our driver was excellent, however the firefly experience was, in my opinion, not worth it. And of course, this is not the driver's fault. The firefly outfit put 30-35 people into the boats. We were so crowded that you could not even turn around to take a picture during the five minutes we looked for the fireflies. We also did the blue water thing which we never did see. It was disappointing.

Disappointing – Not a Tour, Just Transport and a Basic Meal We were really looking forward to this experience, but it didn’t deliver. This is essentially just a driver taking you from place to place — there was no commentary or information provided throughout the trip. Even when we asked questions, the answers were brief and unclear. The Firefly boat ride was beautiful, but again, no explanation or background was offered by that company, which made it feel like a missed opportunity to learn more about the area or the natural phenomenon. Dinner was also disappointing. We provided dietary information in advance but were not asked or acknowledged on arrival. Food was brought to the table without explanation, and when I asked what a dish was, I received a blunt response ("fish fillet") and nothing more. The seafood component was minimal — just two prawns per person and a small amount of fish — so it felt a bit misleading given the way the dinner was described. Overall, this felt like a very expensive car ride with a basic dinner, rather than a guided tour. With a few improvements — like adding context, offering basic hospitality, and communicating clearly — this experience could be much better.
We were picked up directly at our hotel by a very friendly driver who took us to the 4 chosen points. Private excursion. Passage to Batu Caves. This is to be seen for the imposing statue and the temple built inside the cave. In 30 minutes it is indeed more than enough. Monkeys are a spectacle and unfortunately the place filled with pigeons. Fortunately they pass a jet of water to clean.... Then stop at Amman Temple, far from everything. Very serene place and beautiful unpainted carved temple. We made a new stop at a lighthouse, the woman walking we took the cart that brings us up to admire the scenery and monkeys.... Little interest but it doesn’t make a detour so we might as well do it. And last stop in Selangor before going to see the fireflies, to dine by the river in one of the great restaurants that does well. We ate well there. Boarding at 19:15 in a small boat for a few minutes before arriving at the fireflies site. And there the magic happens, full of little beasts that we only see because they shine. The pilot approached the mangroves to catch some and show us. Some of them are entering the boat. These few minutes are superb. Then back to the river controllers... afternoon very nice! Then return to the hotel with our pleasant driver!
