Descripción
La ruta Marangu lo lleva a un ritmo suave a través de bosques, páramos y luego a través de The Saddle, un desierto de gran altitud que separa la cumbre principal, Kibo, 5895m, desde el escarpado Mawenzi, 5149m, hasta Kibo Hut. A partir de aquí, se hace un comienzo temprano para el ascenso a Uhuru Point (la parte superior de Kibo). El camino zigzaguea por una pendiente empinada que es más fácil de escalar cuando está congelado. Las vistas desde el borde del cráter en Gillman’s Point al amanecer pueden ser espectaculares. Uhuru Peak se encuentra justo arriba. Este es un viaje difícil de caminar, pero dentro de los límites de un individuo en forma acostumbrado a caminar en áreas de montaña. Se recomienda un día adicional para aclimatarse a la altitud en Horombo, desde donde hay varios paseos para disfrutar.

We had an amazing time with the team and with Shungu. We could see that he treated his team with a lot of respect, they are all friends from childhood and they admire him. That was one of the things that I valued the most. Everthing was as it was talked before, good food, they borrowed us clothes, good acommodation and we felt very cared. They are professional. I would recommend it. He has an ethic business and we could see thst we supported the locals.
