Very nice tour, Yasushi the guide an excellent guide, hes very friendly, he told us all the information amazing, he’s always checking up on everyone of us worrying about if everything is alright. He explained us every detail and all the information required in a very fun way, with quizs, comparations, histories… We went to Kanazawa garden where he told us every detail and the history from the origin, then we went to the district, we saw it all and had time to see how gold leafs were made and try ice creams with gold leafs. Definitely 10/10 experience completely recommended.

My hotel is not far from these attractions. But I decided to take a tour to safe some times. Yasushi is our tour guide. He’s amazing. He’s very informative and he knows the stories and history well. He’s very funny too. He did an amazing job. We visited the garden, the geisha town. He showed us where to have the gold leafs ice cream. He even brought us to the shop where the gold leafs were made. I was impressed. Thank you very much Yasushi.

1. We love the visit in the Kanasawa Park Kenroku-en park, the tour guide took time to explain the history, and the art, philosophy for us. 2. We went to the icecream place with the gold leaf of 1 um thick. Very nice experience. 3. We went to see how they made the gold leaf. And very good skills. Wonderful experience!

The walking tour also stopped at a gold leaf making studio — very neat to see the artists at work and learning about the heritage of this craft. It was so amazing yasushi was an awesome tour guide. He kept a perfect pace and we stopped to take breaks just enough that I never felt too overwhelmed by the heat. He is so passionate about Kanazawa and I feel like I learned so much from him. I would 100% recommend taking a walking tour with him!

However, joining Yasushi’s tour turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in Kanazawa. As a Kanazawa native and former teacher, he combines deep historical knowledge with the ability to explain complex topics in a clear and interesting way. Throughout the tour, he shared not only the history of Kenroku-en, Kanazawa Castle, the Samurai District, and the Higashi Chaya District, but also many stories about everyday Japanese culture, traditions, and modern society.
