Jubileo 2025 Excursión privada clásica a Roma: Vía Apia & Catacumbas

The only memorable part of the tour was the Catacombs. The driver did not speak English. We were supposed to walk on the Appian Way and see the Roman Aquaducts. He took us to a small section of the Appian Way that was in town. He then wanted to take us to a church. When we told him that we wanted to go see the Aquaducts, he drove down the Appian Way that we were to walk on. When we got to the Aquaducts he would not stop to for us to take any pictures. I believe that we were not supposed to be driving down the Appian Way. Overall, we were disappointed with the tour.

Since studying Latin in high school (50 years ago), I have always wanted to see the Coliseum, the Pantheon, the Appian Way, and the catacombs. I was able to see it all. Our driver was very nice, very patient. And adjusted our trip in a moment’s notice.

When I originally booked this tour, it was largely because I wanted to take my husband to see/drive by the Roman acqueducts...because at that time the tour title and description included that in it. But at some point that was removed, and I didn't realize it until we were on the tour and I asked the guide about it and he was surprised and said we weren't going to the acqueducts. We did really enjoy our tour guide, and I loved walking on the Appian Way and seeing the catacombs. The guide/driver was friendly and knowledgeable. It was en enjoyable tour.

First things first, Mauro is an *excellent* and extremely knowledgeable guide, and we would take a tour with him again anytime. The pick-up at our B&B was extremely convenient, the vehicle very comfortable, and he was a few minutes early--AND called to let me know exactly where he was parked, so that we could find him with zero trouble. The down side of it all is that we did not visit the aqueducts or San Paolo fuori le Muri, which was a special request (that I'd confirmed from the company) for my Dad's first trip to Rome. Additionally, our tour was not even three full hours, and this seems like a rather steep price for such a short tour. On the one hand, obviously we could (and probably should) have reminded Mauro that the aqueducts and San Paolo were on the itinerary, but we were caught up in the moment and with our plans afterwards, so this is partially on us, but the full experience would have been appreciated.

Amazing time. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable in guiding us around Rome. He was friendly, and helpful and took the time to answer all our questions. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide!!

Such a great Trip!!! We learned a lot and were able to see so much. The Catacombs are fantastic and our tour was wonderful!

Great guide, he really loved his job, so passionate about it and really wanted us to have a great experience which we had. We also had booked an excursion with another company, but they cancelled due to not enough ppl booked. We then booked this in the morning and he picked us up for this excursion after 4 hours! Really good! Would absolutely recommend this! He also asked if we wanted transfer to the airport when it was time for us to go home. He was on time and everything was totally perfect. If I remember correctly his name was Emanuelle. Best guide!

We had a fabulous tour of the catacombs and the Appian Way by our guide Mika. His knowledge of the history of Rome was amazing, so his tour was incredible. We have been to Rome many times, but this tour was one of the most informative we have ever had. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more of the history of the city.

We booked this tour through viator.com. Having never booked a tour with this company before, we were not sure what to expect. My family (wife and 8 year old son) and I were picked up by Mirko exactly on time. In fact he was there 15 minutes early and was trying to contact me via email and WhatsApp with info on his exact location. Unfortunately the meeting point I selected was not possible for him to park and I did not have cell service. He was nice enough to get out of his car and walked to find us. Mirko was incredibly friendly and immediately felt like an old friend. He was clearly passionate about his city and its history. He took us to quite a few sites and not once did he hurry us along. We learned a great deal from listening to his stories about what we were seeing. He was truly able to bring the history to life! In our 4 days in Rome, this tour was by far the best thing we did. If I am ever back in Rome I would absolutely book another tour with Mirko and this company.
