Lo mejor es tomar esta experiencia en tus primeros días aquí ya que aprenderás mucho sobre la zona, cosas que hacer aquí y lugares para visitar, para que puedas decidir qué quieres hacer durante el resto de tus vacaciones aquí. Disfruto compartir mis conocimientos sobre los animales, esta área y su cultura única. Primero visitaremos The Cliff, un lugar especial con impresionantes vistas al océano. En la caminata de ida y vuelta es posible que veamos perezosos y monos. En el Acantilado puedes tomar algunas fotos increíbles, es la oportunidad perfecta para Instagram. Luego conduciremos por la ciudad para que sepas dónde está qué. Luego visitaremos el Proyecto Iguana, área protegida donde se crían iguanas para ser liberadas en el bosque. Este proyecto es en una finca Bri Bri, por lo que también aprenderás sobre plantas medicinales y la cultura Bri Bri. Después de eso iremos a las cascadas, un lugar mágico en el bosque, donde nos relajaremos y nadaremos en la piscina de la cascada, compartiremos bebidas y charlaremos sobre Puerto Viejo y Pura Vida.

Nuestro primer destino es The Cliff. Este es el lugar donde se pueden tomar magníficas fotografías. Haremos una pequeña caminata por un sendero playa-selva hasta este hermoso mirador. La caminata no es difícil ni larga, solo hay dos sencillos escalones y la cima es impresionante con impresionantes vistas del océano y la zona. ¡Esta es una oportunidad perfecta para tomar fotografías en Instagram!
Hora de recojo alrededor de las 10 am, transporte a Cocles. Lo recogeré en su Hotel o Airbnb en el área de Puerto Viejo en un cómodo automóvil con aire acondicionado y comenzaremos nuestra experiencia.
Conduciremos y nos detendremos brevemente en algunos lugares del pueblo de Puerto Viejo donde compartiré con ustedes mis recomendaciones sobre restaurantes, lugares para ir, cosas para hacer y también cosas prácticas como cajeros automáticos, bancos, alquileres, etc. Aprenderá qué playas. son buenos para surfear, cuáles para nadar y cuáles para hacer snorkel, dónde están los lugares donde se pueden observar animales, dónde está el mejor restaurante caribeño y dónde ir si se le antoja sushi, y dónde bailar toda la noche. También aprenderá sobre la cultura local, el estilo de vida y la historia de Puerto Viejo.
Transporte a la reserva indígena Kekoldi.
Transporte a las cataratas Bri Bri con una breve parada en el supermercado donde compraré bebidas para compartir en las cataratas.
Luego nos dirigiremos al Proyecto Iguana, santuario de cría y liberación de iguanas verdes, ubicado en el área indígena Kekoldi Bri Bri, donde podrás ver iguanas libres en las cercanías. También aprenderá sobre la cultura Bri Bri y las plantas medicinales utilizadas por BriBris y conocerá a Juana, la señora BriBri que inició este proyecto.
Luego iremos a la Cascada Bri Bri, el lugar mágico del bosque, donde nos relajaremos, nadaremos en la piscina de la cascada, tomaremos cervezas (o alguna otra bebida) y hablaremos de Puerto Viejo y Costa Rica. Hay aproximadamente 80 escalones hasta la cascada, la mayoría pequeños. Lleve agua, protector solar, aerosol para mosquitos, zapatos/sandalias en lugar de chanclas, zapatos de agua y toallas si los tiene
Transporte al área de Puerto Viejo, regreso a su Hotel o Airbnb.

Maja's tour is great because she's been a local for a long time, and also has an outsider's perspective as someone who moved here from another country. Super helpful if you aren't fluent in Spanish and are looking to get acquainted with the area during the first part of your trip. I'm so glad we did this tour on our second day in town!
Maya was amazing! Knew the history and knew all the write places! She took us on a walk at first and could tell us so many cool things in just that walk!

Maya's tour of Puerto Viejo is great - especially on your first day in town. She provides a through overview of different places in town and helpful tips on maximizing your experience. We started out driving around town and learning about both the history of the area as well as current day tips like which restaurants and grocery stores she recommends and why. The walk to The Cliff is over easy terrain and Maya provides interesting information about the local flora and fauna. Although it was raining the day of our tour, the view from The Cliff was still pretty. Maya even worked with us to reschedule part of the tour due to poor weather. The Kekoldi BriBri Iguana Project is very interesting. The BriBri woman who lives on and runs the property has many interesting stories about their culture and how they interact with the plants and animals around them. We made a quick stop at the grocery store and Maya got us drinks of our choice before heading to the waterfall. There is an area to change into a bathing suit when you arrive. The hike to the waterfall was well maintained and had steps along the path. It was steep but not too strenuous. Swimming in the pool at the base of the waterfall was chilly but refreshing! The man running the entrance was a character who sang, played the piano, and offered us "Coco Loco" (a tasty coconut drink with rum) or "Coco Boring" (without rum). Maya brough us back to the meeting spot around 2:30 in the afternoon. It was a really fun day!
Such a great guide, she was on time to pick us up, she was very informative about the history of puerto viejo and she has a great eye for spotting animals. I loved every part about it
Maya was a great host and tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about Puerto Viejo and I learned a lot of new things. Expect a lot of hiking, nature seeking, and chill vibes. Nothing extravagant! The Bri Bri Waterfall was soothing.
Maya is a great tour guide! She was prompt in her pick up times and keeping us on schedule without rushing. We learned so much about the history of Costa Rica and Puerto Viejo. It was a great experience to see PV in the eyes of someone who lives here- so many animals and cool facts to learn. Highly recommend to take this tour right when you arrive! We're so happy we did this tour the first day , her knowledge of the history of Puerto Viejo, plants, animals and area helped us get familiar and settled in the days to follow. Spending time with the indigenous Bri Bri family was something we will never forget. We were invited inside their home for tea and a very special unique fruit sample. The waterfall was gorgeous and refreshing. Highly recommend this tour.
