Esta es una exclusiva mía, producto de la investigación continua de GO! Paseos guías de Portugal y arqueólogos de la ciudad a través de los años! Durante esta visita guiada, lo guiaré a través de los recuerdos de la Coimbra judía. Los primeros indicios de la presencia judía en Coimbra se remontan al siglo X, señalados por la transacción de propiedades de la tierra en un pueblo cercano. Sabemos que posteriormente, durante el reinado de D. Afonso Henriques, se otorgaron algunas garantías y tierras a esta comunidad, que se expandió por todo el territorio portugués hasta el siglo XVI. Más que edificios o testimonios materiales de la presencia judía, este es un recorrido sobre la rica historia y cultura de esta comunidad.

The guide was very patient. I loved going through the streets of this exceptional city. We were lucky enough to witness the students preparing for a “last” procession. Very interesting!

We needed to cancel our trip because of illness. We contacted the wholesaler directly to ask for a refund because this was what TripAdvisor suggested. They refused. Saying they did not have enough notice though the normal Tripadvisor policy says that 48 hours is sufficient. Never use this organization if you are concerned about possible cancellation.
Hello Melvin, all our tours are non-refundable. This is a policy stated in the reservation conditions, which every client should read before making the payment (as in any contract), so unfortunately you didn't read about it upon reservation. We can open an exception and book for another date/schedule, if our guide who is hired for the service is available. So feel free to contact if you come here in the future. Our tour guide was excellent and the tour included recent finds that have yielded even more information about Jewish history in Coimbra.
Eva was well versed on the Jewish history in Coimbra as well as general history of the city. A lot of walking but she tries to find area that are not as steep. Throughly enjoyed!!

Sara is an outstanding guide who provides a fantastic tour. She is extremely knowledgeable and can answer questions with examples from the latest historic research. Before the tour, we had walked around and thought we had seen a lot. Walking with Sara, we realized we had missed so much of Jewish and local history which she expertly tied together. Sara is additionally very personable which made our tour not just fascinating but also very enjoyable. We were grateful,too, that she tailored our tour to some mobility issues- not an easy task in such a hilly city-something which makes Sara's tours unique.
