Visite el Monumento Nacional que se encuentra en el medio de la Plaza Merdeka, es un monumento de 132 metros de altura con una llama de pan de oro en la parte superior, que simboliza la independencia de la nación. Este es uno de los aspectos más destacados de la ciudad de Yakarta. El sótano del monumento alberga una exhibición de 48 dioramas que representan la historia de Indonesia desde la prehistoria hasta el presente. (Todos los lunes, Monumento Nacional está cerrado. Solo se puede visitar la zona exterior del monumento).
Ubicada en Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, la catedral construida en estilo gótico data de 1891. Tiene una torre alta con ventanas altas decoradas con pinturas de vidrio. Dentro de la iglesia hay 3 altares que juntos forman un semicírculo. También tiene un hermoso altar antiguo que refleja el sonido como una concha de caracol.
La mezquita Istiqlal en Yakarta, Indonesia, es la mezquita más grande del sudeste asiático y la sexta mezquita más grande del mundo en términos de capacidad de fieles. Istiqlal, que significa “Independencia” en árabe. Ubicada en el centro de la ciudad, casi frente a la Catedral Nacional, la Mezquita también pretende ser un símbolo de paz y tolerancia religiosa. Nota: la mezquita Istiqlal está cerrada todos los viernes.

We went with very little expectations because we didn't think there was much to see in the city. But our guide, Catherine, did a superb job sharing lots of interesting information and history about Jakarta and the country in general. The entire experience was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommend for a good overview of this country and city.

Excellent trip. The food was fantastic. Fresh, clean and so tasty. Nice mix of street and restaurant food. Won’t normally eat food street food but I had no hesitation in trying all the dishes
