EN 1999; La isla Robben fue inscrita en la lista del patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO. La isla Robben está ubicada a 12 kilómetros de la costa de Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica. EN 1685, durante una visita anual al cabo, Hendrik Adriaan Van Rheede a Drakenstein, concedió los terrenos de Groot Constantia a Simon Van der Stel, el primer gobernador del Cabo de Buena Esperanza. van der Stel construyó la casa y utilizó el terreno para producir vino, otros cultivos frutales y para la cría de ganado.
