La vista dentro de la Cueva de Hielo es realmente espectacular la combinación de los colores del hielo, tendrá la oportunidad de ver un poco de hielo negro increíble, así como algunas características de hielo azul. La cueva de hielo de Katla es verdaderamente única. La cueva de hielo se encuentra en el glaciar Kötlujökull que es un glaciar de salida del glaciar Mýrdalsjökull. Debajo del glaciar espera el poderoso volcán Katla de donde toma su nombre tanto el glaciar como la cueva de hielo. El tour sale desde el pueblo de Vík, donde subirá a un Super Jeep que lo llevará hasta la cueva de hielo. Allí te pondrás crampones y un casco para prepararte para caminar dentro de la cueva de hielo natural. Su guía experto le informará sobre el glaciar y cómo la cueva de hielo está formada por la madre naturaleza. - El tiempo de conducción a Vík desde Reikiavik es de alrededor de 2 horas y 30 minutos en buenas condiciones de la carretera. Tenga en cuenta que si llega después de la hora de salida, su lugar en el tour no se puede garantizar o reembolsar.

We booked this experience last minute and are so glad that we did! The photos don’t do it justice. The ice mixed with the volcanic ash is so stunning to see in person. There was a short/manageable hike up to the cave. The cave itself is magnificent. Beda was an incredible tour guide. He had us laughing the whole time. Not to mention he takes great photos! If you’re in the Vik area, I would highly recommend this over the lava show. Bring gloves and a smile. There’s no problems, only solutions ❤️

Amazing experience! It exceeded all expectations. Hiking around the glacier felt like being on a totally different planet. We got to see mountains from Game of Thrones and Star Wars along the way. And even saw a location from Interstellar! Our guide, Edgar was so friendly and full of energy. Seeing the layers of volcanic ash protecting the glacier was so cool. Overall we would recommend the tour to everyone.
We had a great trip w Syra. She was an excellent guide and driver. I appreciated that she took us to a viewpoint before the glacier and gave us time to take photos. She was very knowledgeable about glaciers and was overall a wonderful host. Great booking and touring experience.
This tour was excellent and Beda was a fantastic guide! He is very knowledgeable, patient, kind and funny. We learned a lot about the glacier and had plenty of opportunities to take photos and videos. The trip to the glacier was beautiful and the hike up to the cave was amazing but well prepared. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you want to not only get onto the glacier but also experience being inside an ice cave!
We had such a wonderful time on this excursion. The meeting place is easy to find in Vik with plenty of parking available. The cookies and hot chocolate at the beginning and end are a very welcome addition to the experience (as noted by my children). The glacier is spectacular and our guide was very knowledgeable explaining everything we were seeing and answering SO many questions. The cave itself is truly breathtaking and well worth the walk up to it. I highly recommend this excursion for anyone traveling to Iceland, young and “seasoned” people alike.
It was an awesome experience. Our tour guide was Beda and was excellent. He was very patient and answered all our questions. It’s a very close encounter with iceberg and will not get another opportunity. It is worth the money. I definitely recommend to others.
Gabriel, our tour guide, was so interesting. He really did a great job and you could tell he really cared about the glacier/cave. Beg him to tell you the raven story, even better if he enhances it with his video!
