Cada año, entre julio y principios de noviembre, muchos mamíferos marinos, incluidas las ballenas jorobadas, migran al Océano Pacífico, y más específicamente a la Polinesia Francesa. Es uno de los únicos destinos en el mundo donde podrás observarlos en su hábitat natural. Esta es una oportunidad única para admirarlos. Durante esta excursión también avistaremos delfines mulares, ballenas piloto y tiburones pelágicos. ¡Únase a nosotros para una experiencia inolvidable! Luego del avistamiento de ballenas, finalizamos la visita con una excursión de snorkel en la laguna en compañía de mantarrayas y tiburones de arrecife de puntas negras. Esta actividad se realiza en un banco de arena poco profundo en la laguna, donde puedes estar de pie porque el agua sólo llega hasta la cintura. Es accesible para todas las edades, sin ninguna condición física particular.

Durante los viajes marítimos se observarán ballenas jorobadas y diversas especies de delfines y tiburones en mar abierto. Nuestro guía sólo autoriza el lanzamiento después de confirmar que las condiciones climáticas y el comportamiento de los animales son favorables. La normativa nos obliga a nadar largas distancias para acercarnos discretamente a los animales. Es obligatorio el uso de un dispositivo de flotación. Proporcionamos los chalecos salvavidas más adecuados para la práctica del snorkel y cumpliendo con la normativa. Puedes usar un traje de neopreno de 3 mm como mínimo si no deseas usar un chaleco salvavidas. Lamentablemente no podemos garantizar que usted nadará con una ballena durante su excursión. Para qué ? No elegimos nadar con una ballena jorobada, es la ballena la que elige nadar con nosotros. Se trata de un animal salvaje, en mar abierto, y las condiciones climáticas también tienen un gran impacto.

La presencia de ballenas nunca está garantizada, ya que son animales salvajes que evolucionan en su entorno natural.
- Condiciones de participación: La participación en las salidas está sujeta a las siguientes condiciones. Estar en buena condición física. Saber nadar correctamente. No debe existir ninguna contraindicación médica para la práctica de deportes acuáticos. Siga estrictamente las instrucciones dadas por el capitán y el guía. Los menores de edad deberán estar acompañados por un adulto responsable. El prestador del servicio se reserva el derecho de rechazar el embarque o el lanzamiento a cualquier persona que no cumpla estas condiciones o presente un comportamiento inapropiado. - Seguridad a bordo: La seguridad de los pasajeros es una prioridad máxima. La embarcación está equipada según la normativa marítima vigente (chalecos salvavidas, equipo de seguridad, medios de comunicación). Los pasajeros se comprometen a permanecer sentados o de pie en los puntos designados durante la navegación. No moverse sin autorización. Use un chaleco salvavidas si lo solicita la tripulación. Siga todas las instrucciones de seguridad dadas a bordo. Cualquier comportamiento que ponga en peligro a las personas o al equipo podrá provocar la detención del vehículo. Salida inmediata sin reembolso.
- El prestador del servicio se reserva el derecho de rechazar el embarque o el lanzamiento a cualquier persona que no cumpla estas condiciones o presente un comportamiento inapropiado.
- Las salidas están sujetas a las condiciones climáticas y del mar. El proveedor del servicio se reserva el derecho de modificar el itinerario, acortar la salida o cancelar la salida. Esto puede suceder antes o durante la salida, si las condiciones se vuelven desfavorables. En caso de cancelación por razones climáticas o de seguridad, se ofrecerá un aplazamiento sujeto a disponibilidad. De lo contrario, se podrá emitir un reembolso. - Chalecos salvavidas y equipamiento adecuado: En el marco de las excursiones acuáticas y de avistamiento de ballenas, el proveedor de servicios proporciona chalecos salvavidas específicamente adaptados para el avistamiento de ballenas. El prestador del servicio no se hace responsable de ningún accidente que resulte del rechazo, mal uso o no uso del equipo de seguridad proporcionado.
- El uso de un dispositivo de flotabilidad es obligatorio para entrar al agua, sin excepción. Estos chalecos están diseñados para garantizar la seguridad de los participantes permitiendo al mismo tiempo una libertad de movimiento adecuada para la observación de ballenas. También se permiten como dispositivos de flotación los trajes de neopreno de 3 mm (cortos o largos).
- Lanzamiento (reglas estrictas): El lanzamiento está condicionado al estado del mar, al comportamiento de las ballenas, a la valoración del guía y a la normativa vigente el día de la salida. La decisión final de botar el barco corresponde exclusivamente al capitán y al guía. Los participantes se comprometen a entrar al agua únicamente con permiso y a respetar las distancias requeridas con los animales. Nunca intente tocar o perseguir una ballena. Salga del agua inmediatamente cuando lo solicite el guía. El incumplimiento de estas reglas resultará en la exclusión inmediata del lanzamiento, sin reembolso.
- Efectos Personales: El prestador del servicio declina toda responsabilidad en caso de pérdida, daño o robo de sus efectos personales. Se desaconseja totalmente traer objetos de valor.
- La participación en las salidas se realiza por cuenta y riesgo de los participantes, dentro de los límites de la normativa aplicable. El proveedor de servicios no se hace responsable de: El comportamiento imprudente de los participantes. Incumplimiento de las instrucciones de seguridad. Incidentes relacionados con el medio natural (olas, corrientes, fauna) Lesiones corporales o daños materiales derivados de acontecimientos ajenos a su voluntad. Cada participante reconoce estar informado de los riesgos inherentes a las actividades náuticas y marítimas.
- El prestador de servicios está cubierto por un seguro de responsabilidad civil profesional de acuerdo con la legislación aplicable. Se recomienda a los participantes tener un seguro personal que cubra las actividades de deportes acuáticos.
- La reserva de una salida implica la aceptación plena y completa de estos términos y condiciones. Estas condiciones podrán ser modificadas en cualquier momento y serán aplicables a partir de la fecha de su publicación online en el sitio web.
- Como las salidas se realizan en un entorno marino, los participantes reconocen estar expuestos al riesgo de sufrir mareos. Whale watching season runs through August to the middle of October anything after that diminishes the chance to see whales in the area drastically… this is what we were told by our guide. There’s a very very very very very small chance to see the whales mid November. Although our guide was great and there’s never a guarantee to find/see the whales we would have appreciated knowing the likelihood of seeing whales at that time of the year are greatly diminished. This was probably the most expensive excursion we’ve ever taken at over 800$. The tour ended up cancelling the full day with lunch tour and changed it to a half day tour with no lunch and only refunding $136.00? We did get to see some dolphins, turtles, stingrays and sharks. The guide even retrieved my husband’s sunglasses, which was amazing. We only went into the water twice, once in the deep blue and once in the shallow. All we did was boat around the island.

From November onwards, the whales start heading back to Antarctica, and the chances of seeing them decrease significantly. However, the exact timing of the season’s end is impossible to predict: some years they stay later, other years they leave earlier. This year, they left a bit earlier than expected. The day before your tour, we were fortunate to swim with a mother whale, her calf, and an escort male — an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, on the day of your tour, there were no whales, and none the next day either. We could not have known in advance, as it all depends entirely on nature. We did a full tour around the island to look for them, not just for fun or a simple boat ride. Our priority is always to give our guests the best possible chance to see whales, even when the season is ending. There are also other providers, some even more expensive than us, and you can still find higher rates elsewhere. The same uncertainties apply to all. We are still glad that you were able to enjoy dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and sharks, and that our guide took good care of you during the excursion. Regarding the tour modification and partial refund, this was due to unforeseen circumstances that made it impossible to run the full-day tour. What an awesome day so beautiful just being on the water! It was the end of the season but we were able to see a whale and her big baby. We got in the water a couple of times which was thrilling. However, mom wanted to keep her baby safe! Our guide and captain were incredible!! A highly recommended adventure!
This was the most magical and breathtaking adventure in my lifetime. We swam with a mother and her baby whale. It was so majestic, I have never seen such beauty. We didn't expect to see a whale and both groups swam with them. Stunning! I bought the video and still can't believe the beauty watching it after returning home. Chasing whales is like herding cats. That said, it was a great excursion. We saw two whales in the water directly below our group. The crew were great, safety was a priority, and worth the money.

The guide had our safety and comfort top of mind throughout the tour. For example, he made sure that we knew how to stay safe if we saw a shark. The guide coordinates with various other boats to maximize our chances of swimming with whales. I would also recommend booking multiple tours to maximize your chances of swimming with whales. He also takes many professional-quality photos and videos of the experience for sale at the end of the tour (approximately $100).
This was a bucket list adventure for sure! For over a decade, we have watched other travel vloggers swim with humpbacks and at long last, we booked this excursion and it did NOT disappoint. Joaquin was an amazing guide and shared great information about the whales even before we set eyes on them. I would come back to Moorea JUST to do this excursion again.
It’s ok. We choose this one since it’s a bit more pricey, guess it could have better service. But upon comparison with other guests’ experience provided by cheaper agencies, everything is exactly the same. Nothing special on this one, truly.
