Is was as good as I was hoping, would definitely recommend. The guide beyond knowledgeable/ amazing
A great introduction to Chicago! Hidden details you'll never find on your own. His passion for the city is infectious. Highly recommend!
Dave took us on a fabulous tour today. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and he spoke loudly so that we could hear him. He explained the difference between periods of architecture that we were seeing and various construction and decorative details in a way that we walked away understanding. Dave took us into a number of these architectural gems and see fabulous lobbies decorated with Tiffany glass and decorative fixtures. He also explained the history of Chicago, its industries and fortunes made there. Afterward we had lunch at one of Dave’s recommendations and the view and food were great. The price was reasonable too. The previous day we had taken an architectural river cruise and gotten an overview but none of the detail, background and history. If one can, take both, but it’s the history and detail that you are interested in, take Dave’s walking tour.
I had an outstanding experience with this private walking architecture and history tour of Chicago. Dave was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, with a deep understanding of the city’s architectural evolution. What really set the tour apart was his storytelling—he didn’t just point out buildings, he brought Chicago’s architectural history to life with fascinating stories and context that made the city feel vivid and dynamic. The pace was perfect, the insights were thoughtful, and it felt truly tailored rather than scripted. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to experience Chicago beyond the surface, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough.
Dave was wonderful! He was full of enthusiasm for art, architecture, and history. So happy that we booked a tour!
David’s historical knowledge and charming personality made his enthusiasm for Chicago contagious!
Our guide was very knowledgeable. Excellent tour.
Outstanding tour! Dave was full of information about Chicago history, architecture, and the city in general. He adapted the tour to our preferences by taking us to places we’d mentioned or that aligned with our interests. We saw and learned about so many places and asked a lot of questions, which were easily answered with enthusiasm and clear expertise. Highly recommend!
David is awesome! Super knowledgeable and tailored it to our questions and interests. I learned so much and would totally recommend it!
I absolutely LOVE Dash’s tours! To date, I’ve been on three tours with him, and truly - each one is better than the last! Originally I brought my friend Celeste on the Downtown Chicago tour and it was her favorite part of her trip. I also went on this same tour last week with friends and had a total blast!! As a non-native Chicagoan, it’s really cool to learn more about the city I work in each day and Dash’s knowledge is pretty spectacular! I also attended another one of Dash’s tours in Hyde Park all about the World’s Fair. It was almost like stepping back in time. He painted a picture of what we would have experienced there in 1893, showed us old photos of the sites, and took us to some really beautiful locations. I would highly recommend his tours, especially if you love history. Dash’s charm and knowledge is unmatched!!
