The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Memphis, not just about music and segregation, but also going back to the Civil War as well as what the City is trying to maintain or re-invent to stay a viable destination.
Excellent tour! Our guide Grace Anne was both very informative and congenial. As Memphis’ history was far more extensive than we anticipated, walking along the old streets while hearing about it was a perfect way to learn.
This tour was great. We loved learning some information about Memphis while walking the streets downtown. Lots of interesting stories that made the city come alive.
My guide was fantastic. Absolute beacon of informatoin and brought the city to life. He told the city's most famous stories, but also added the small stories only a local would know. I find depending on the guide, historic tours can drag on but this tour was engrossing from start to finish. I left the tour with a deep fascination and appreciation for Memphis and everything its been through.
This is a must do activity in Memphis! The guide takes you through the history of Memphis from its founding, as hub as a cotton trade, the vibrant music history, and how civil rights shaped the city. Our guide was super knowledgeable and engaging. I learned so much in such a pleasant way. The walk covers a lot, but it’s very manageable.

The entire experience was excellent: from making the reservation with the operator directly, to meeting the guide, to the tour itself. My husband and I enjoyed the morning with our guide, Taylor Nicole. Nothing beats hearing the history of Memphis from a local! Her stories were interesting, informative, and entertaining. It felt like we were walking through the city with a friend.
Absolute amazing tour! Our guide was informative and funny. Very interesting information to share on the history of Memphis without being history boring. Plenty of quirky tidbits sprinkled in to keep adults and kids entertained. Would not only recommend, but would do the tour again just to hear it again and soak it all in! One of the highlights of our trip!
