Elegido por nuestro guía turístico en su hotel entre las 8 a.m. y la 1 p.m. o reunirse con el guía en el punto de encuentro a las 7:40 a.m. o 13:00 p.m. Luego diríjase a la Plaza de Tiananmen, la plaza pública más grande de este tipo en el mundo. Situado en el corazón de la ciudad de Pekín, es el lugar para multitudinarios desfiles y concentraciones. Este fue el lugar cuando en 1949, desde una tribuna en Tiananmen (la Puerta de la Paz Celestial), el presidente Mao proclamó el establecimiento de la República Popular China. Por razones de seguridad, la Plaza de Tiananmen es una plaza vallada rodeada por rejillas de hierro con cuatro entradas principales: este, oeste, sur y norte. La plaza está abierta al público hasta la puesta del sol, pero todos los turistas tienen que pasar un control de seguridad antes de entrar en la plaza. Fantastic trip for the day. We chose this as our day 1 trip to get up and used to the time change after a long flight. Lucy was amazing as she kept our group together and taught us about the history of the forbidden city as well as recent discoveries. She had a good sense of humour as well which made the trip even more fun. I would recommend this trip if you wish to learn about the history of the forbidden city but to also stretch your legs and get moving for the day.

Thorough and excellent forbidden city tour, however we only drove past the Tianmen square and did not enter as expected, which was a little disappointing. We were told this is due to significant lines at the square to enter. We will have to book a trip to the square soon.
