Luego, disfrute de una parada independiente en una fábrica artesanal de cigarros para observar su elaboración tradicional. En Higüey, recorra el mercado local, conozca la histórica Iglesia de San Dionisio y visite la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia, uno de los principales símbolos culturales y religiosos del país. También tendrá tiempo para una breve parada de compras de productos y souvenirs locales. Durante todo el recorrido, su guía compartirá detalles sobre las costumbres, la agricultura y la vida cotidiana dominicana. Al finalizar, su transporte privado lo llevará cómodamente de regreso a su hotel.

Todo Inicia con la recogida en el hotel para dirigirnos hacia nuestra primera parada.
Nuestra primera parada será la Plantación de cafe y cacao donde podrás ver el proceso de elaboración de estos productos y la vez podrás degustar del mismo. Cerca de la plantación visitaremos una familia donde podremos ver como viven los locales en el campo Dominicano.
De forma panoramica haremos un recorrido por el barrio la ceiba un barrio de personas trabajadoras de la zona.
Una auténtica fábrica dominicana, donde podrás probar la fabricación de cigarros en el entorno original con las herramientas originales. Puedes comprar Cigarros dominicanos y, por supuesto, hay una gran variedad de puros, desde baratos hasta de primera calidad.
Siguiendo nuestro recorrido de forma panorámica vamos a observar el barrio de La otra banda unos de los barrios mas concurridos de la zona ya que esta muy cerca de la ciudad.
Siguiendo nuestra aventura de forma panorámica le mostraremos el mercado local de Higūey donde los locales van para comprar productos de primera necesidad.
Luego de forma panorámica observaremos la bella y grandiosa Iglesia San Dionisio, este monumento se comenzó a construir en el año 1569 y terminado en el año 1572.
Luego llegaremos al lugar mas visitado por los Dominicanos la catedral Nuestra Señora De La Altagracia. la construcción se inicio en el año 1954 y duro 17 años para la finalización, allí podremos disfrutar de esa magnifica construcción, sus bellos interiores y porque no, poder orar unos minutos.
Luego volvemos a la zona de Bávaro, en el trayecto veremos los mas grandes plantación de caña de azúcar.
Nuestra ultima parada será en una tienda de regalos, pinturas, joyerías etc.
Por ultimo regresaremos al lobby de su hotel, Airbnb o casa.

We booked the Half Day Private Tour in Dominican Republic with Local Guide at the last minute, and it turned out to be a great experience. Our guide and driver, Silverio, was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He made the whole trip enjoyable, never rushed us, and shared interesting information about the local culture, as well as the coffee, cocoa, and tobacco production. Visiting Higüey, the Basilica, and the local market gave us a much better understanding of everyday life in the Dominican Republic. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that we didn't stop at Macao Beach. We only realized afterward, when we checked the tour description again, that a brief stop at the beach was supposed to be part of the itinerary. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable tour, and Silverio did an excellent job. If the beach stop had been included as advertised, it would have been a perfect experience.

An experience that one cannot miss, the private Punta Cana–Higüey City Tour. Edwin Junior, our guide, THE BEST!!! Very knowledgeable about the culture, customs, and the places we visited, the most attentive and helpful. We visited a local coffee and cocoa plantation, where we were able to taste delicious coffee and chocolate; we also learned how they make it and about many customs and other products they make in the area. He took us to buy souvenirs where they served us very well, and we saw the beautiful Cathedral of the Virgin of Altagracia, saw the sugarcane plantations, and closed our tour with a flourish by eating delicious and typical Dominican food. This was a last minute booking that ended up being well worth it. My husband and I wanted our 3 kids (15, 12, 8) to experience parts of the island beyond our resort. Wellington worked diligently with me to ensure that our needs were met. We really appreciated how flexible and willing to accommodate us personalizing the tour. I wanted to share what a wonderful guide we had in Dominica. His name is Roger and he worked on this day for InvaderZim Taxi & Tours. I'm not sure if he also works for other companies. Anyway, Roger was amazing, very friendly, informative and professional. He actually hiked with us around the Fresh Water Lake up in the Cloud Forest as well as taking us to other interesting sites - wherever we wanted to go. I highly recommend asking for Roger when you book your day.
This private tour was the highlight of our trip. Edwin was a perfect guide and we loved everything. Our family learned so much about the culture, people, and the real DR! Edwin was also very open to customize the trip to best suit your interests. The plantation was fascinating to learn how chocolate, coffee, and vanilla begins and we even stopped at a small fruit stand to buy some local fruits. It was so refreshing to leave the hotel environment and get to experience some of the real Dominican Republic. Beautiful lush green scenery, our very knowledgeable guide Edwin was amazing and talked to us about many topics and we shared stories about our lives. All of the places we visited showed us more about the livelihood of real people who live on this beautiful island and are trying to make their way and live their lives. Yes we had stops at places to buy tourist souvenirs but hey, who doesn’t want to contribute to the local economy. It was insightful, we felt very safe and enjoyed every minute of our day. Edwin and Abel were wonderful. We rolled cigars, visited a working plantation in the mountains, drove through the crazy traffic in town and visited a bascilica. What an amazing way to spend the morning. Edwin and Abel were excellent sharing their knowledge of the area, politics and the culture. We did the private half day punta cana tour and it was AMAZING!!! The tour surpassed our expectations and ended up being our favorite thing we did on our vacation. Our tour guide was Edwin and he was the sweetest human. He was so knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable. We never felt unsafe.
