Great half day tour with Eddie. I hadn’t ridden a bike since I was a kid, so was a little nervous but there was very little traffic and the paths were pretty flat, so I felt very comfortable. Eddie was knowledgeable about the area and sites. The landscape was beautiful and morning was a great time to be out, before it got too hot.
This was a fabulous way to see parts of Penang that are off the beaten track. À great experience for first time visitors to the region.
Everything 5 stars .. wonderful experience and informative. I will definitely recommend this tour to friends
Eddie our guide was on time, fun and very knowledgable. The bikes are new, and despite being 190cm, I fit comfortably. Roads are easy with no traffic and it was just great to see the beautiful Penang countryside and how people and communities live among one another. The farms were also quite fun. Good that it's in the morning as it gets hot!
If you want to understand more about life on Penang, interact with locals and see the countryside, then you should consider this tour. It was nice getting up early to make the most of the morning before the day became too hot. Eddy, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. He showed us a wide range of places such as Malay and Chinese fishing villages, palm plantations, a goat farm, and we also stopped for a coffee and snack. It was a great experience, and one that I am pleased I booked. It provided a great opportunity to explore what life outside of George Town is like. I also really enjoyed the freedom of being on a bike and the breeze when cycling down quiet roads and paths. I would defintely book this experience again and recommend to anyone who wants to understand more about the island beyond what George Town has to offer. Thank you, Eddy, for being a wonderful guide!
I enjoyed the half-day cycling tour and would definitely recommend the experience to others. Both pick-up from and drop-off at my Georgetown hotel was smooth and efficient. The cycling tour itself was both enjoyable and informative. TC the guide, spoke excellent English, was a pleasure to talk to and was incredibly knowledgeable about Balik Pulau and Penang in general. However, there are two points future participants should probably be aware of: 1) The bicycles used are old and rickety. 2) The goat farm on the itinerary doubles as a petting zoo for a strange assortment of animals; some of which are housed in less-than-ideal cages/pens.
The weather was extremely nice thanks to the heavy rain the day before! It was also extremely cool, especially until 9am, and it was a refreshing and pleasant cycling experience that you wouldn't expect from tropical Malaysia! It was an unforgettable tour to see a different side of Penang from the beautiful cityscape of George Town! Thank you to the guides for their kind explanations♡
We really enjoyed our bike tour, it was great to see another side of Penang and learn about the island and local culture from our guide TC. It's well worth the early start 😊
Great experience, pick up on time. Bikes were a bit well worn but the experience was amazing stopped for a drink and a pastry in the fishing village and ice cream at the farm. Well worth the money
The tour is significantly cheaper than other cycle tours, with good reason. Before the tour I contacted the agent to as a couple of questions. Was there a back rack for my bag, and how many km was the ride. I was told yes to the back rack, and that the ride was 15-20km. Both were untrue. The bike had a basket in front that my backpack did not fit into, and the ride was just over 8km (I used a fitness app to record this). I suspect an AI bot was responsible for answering my questions judging by the wording of the replies. Whether it was AI or not, they need to provide accurate info. The bike was in a very poor condition. The brakes squealed horribly when used and the chain was rusty. When I asked for oil for it, I was told that it was better without so I wouldn't get oil on my trousers (I mean, I was wearing shorts anyway, but that's still a feeble excuse). The tour was pleasant and leisurely, and the guide was funny and informative. I just wish I was given the proper facts before I booked. I was hoping for a more challenging ride, and I also didn't want to carry my bag on my back so these were important to know before I booked.
