La fortaleza de Golconda es posiblemente la fortaleza más grande de la colina de la India. Construido en 1143 dC como un fuerte de barro, fue fortificado entre los siglos XIV y XVII y sirvió como el principal palacio de los sultanes Bahmani y la dinastía Qutub Shahi. Shashi was an amazing guide! She shared so much, not just during the tour but from the moment she picked us up. She shared lots of detailed information about the sites but also about the culture and the city itself. She also brought us to a very local and authentic tea house, where we had the best cookies of our life! It is a bit expensive for a half day tour; but compared to other cheaper tours we did in other cities, this one was by far the best! It was an unforgettable tour which we can’t but recommend!

My husband and I booked this tour as a way to learn some of the history of the city. “Jolly Jon”, our tour guide, picked us up in a car with a driver and took us to see the fort and nearby tombs of the royal family. Absolutely fascinating! Jon is passionate about sharing the history of his city and country. We were really able to envision life in the fort and surrounding area. This was a tour we won’t forget and would highly recommend.
