Excursión de medio día en kayak de mar desde Picton

It was a cloudy, windy, drizzly day and we had a blast! Such a great experience. The scenery was fabulous and I even cought a glimpse of a seal before he took off. It was not an easy trip because of the wind and waves, but we felt completely safe and our guide was so patient and encouraging. I would certainly do this again and highly recommend even if the weather isn't the best! I was happier doing this in the drizzle than I would have been sitting in the room or out walking around!

We selected Marlborough Sounds Adventure Co because they were very helpful prior to booking with lots of information and also their willingness to work with our Cruise port timings. The equipment was of good clean quality and the pre kayaking info was very clear. The two guides, Hannah & Hannah were excellent! Willing to help where possible and very informative. Their knowledge and ability to share it was very good. We would highly recommend booking with this company.

Beautiful day on the water, but the tour itself was uninspiring. After about 15 minutes of paddling, we sat for over 20 minutes waiting for a freighter to pass by (from about 1 km away). As a result, we had less time in some of the other bays along the way. Our guide (Grant) spent most of his time talking with the guest in his kayak, rather than explaining things to the group as a whole. In fact, she identified some birds with which he was unfamiliar. He told us we might be able to paddle under an archway, but did not know which bay it was in (even after checking his phone). As a result, we did not have the chance to paddle under it. He referred several times to seeing many starfish and stingrays etc. on his first tour, but we only saw one stingray briefly (and it was spotted by a guest). He did admit that high tide is not a good time to see these, which makes one wonder why they’d offer a tour at high tide? It is possible that our guide was new to the tour. If that were the case, it would have been better to have a more experienced guide come along, both for our benefit and so he could learn from them. From other reviews, there are several very capable guides in the organization.

Tour was very well organized. Hannah was a lovely kayak guide. She found many rays, birds, and flora for us. Stopped on a beach for an oaty bar and tea/french press coffee. We saw a lot of the sound before being dropped off to start our afternoon on the last 12km of the Queen Charlotte Track. My husband chose the mountain bike option and they delivered his bike and our lunches by water taxi and gave us our water taxi tickets back to Picton.

A fantastic experience . Very well organised and a great guide for the day. The weather wasn't brilliant but it didn't stop us enjoying the paddle.

Hannah is a wonderful guide. She keeps everyone safe while explaining about the fascinating sea and land life. Our 4 hour trip was seamless from start to end point. Fun to have a one way kayak journey and be picked up at the end by a van to return along the mountain road to Picton. The sunny day topped off our experience. Highly recommend

A great experience for us. As beginners we were quickly shown the ropes and experienced 4 hours of tranquil paddling in paradise.

We had a fantastic time on our half day guided kayak tour with Hannah. Everything was great about the trip from the kayaks, scenery and homemade slice for morning tea. Our guide Hannah couldn’t have been friendlier or more interested in us. She was also fantastic telling us stories about the area we were paddling through.
