Snorkeling in Las Grietas was the highlight of this excursion. Water was cold but the experience was really great! The guide was helpful but didn't seem to be that engaged with the whole group. The other snorkeling time was not so great. The sea life was minimal, most likely due to the warmer waters this time of year. Nothing you can really do about that as a tour operator. Overall, no regrets.
Beautiful saltwater pool that filters from the sea. Crystal clear water. Almost without fish. Fascinating but not overwhelming.
Good intro tour on your first/second day in the Galapagos. Our favorite part was snorkeling in Las Grietas (worth it just for this). Our guide was cooky which we loved and very knowledgeable as a native of the islands. The only dock of one star was that while he was very proficient in English, about 70% of what he said was in Spanish and not repeated again in English so we felt we missed a lot without being profficient Spanish speakers. Fair as we were the only ones on the boat who couldn't speak Spanish well but it did silghtly taint our experience.
Expect to swim, wear tennis shoes for a fairly long walk over rocks, excellent sights & an experienced guide that knows English & Spanish will explain everything
Wow we saw and experienced so much in this half day tour! Our guide and crew were wonderful and knowledgeable. Hiking and seeing marine iguanas and more was interesting. Snorkeling we saw many colorful fish, Galapagos sharks, white tip sharks, sea lions and more. Finishing the afternoon swimming in Las Grietas was a beautiful memory we won’t forget! One tip - wear decent hiking shoes
Great first tour, some wildlife, scientific explanations, nice scenery. Not the most spectacular, but if do a few in your stay, start with this one.
Your comment is very important to us, thanks
Great tour guide, fun snorkeling- everything as advertised. This price is the best you can get without being on the island - you can save $10 by being here, but for the convenience, this was well worth it. No worries if you are a bit late to your boat - they will get you on the next one out.
Best viewing of Blue footed Boobies during our trip. Also saw sharks in open snorkeling area and swim was very refreshing.
It was en incredible experience. I saw a lot of wildlife. The guides pointed out a lot of animals and were very knowledgeable about flora and fauna. I would definitely go again.
We took a hike through a very desolate area and saw iguana nesting sites and a couple of adolescent blue footed boobies. Then we went for a snorkeling adventure that was a complete bust. The water was very choppy and cloudy, and they called us back to the boat after 10 minutes in the water. The kicker is the boat didn’t have a ladder so everybody got hauled up onto the boat like a fish on the line as a consolation prize, they took us to a bay, where the water was clearer, but very cold, and the place was crowded because all the snorkeling trips took their guests there. We’ve been on many snorkeling trips, but never on a boat with no ladder.
