Excursión de medio día en 4x4 a la Lagoa das Sete Cidades

We loved the 4x4 experience with Jose! He was very communicative leading up to the tour and at pickup, and he was incredibly flexible with our plans due to the weather. The tour itself was fantastic, and Jose shared a ton of interesting information about the Azores that made the experience even better. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the islands!

This tour gives you a glimpse into Azores island and having a very knowledgeable tour guide like Jose enhances it dramatically as you experience not only amazing nature wonders of the island but also learn about it’s heritage, history and culture from such a passionate guide. Jose was PHENOMENAL! Also, due to weather conditions, our whale/dolphin watch was canceled and he set us up last minute with another wonderful tour the next day.. which was also FABULOUS!!! That guide was Luis and we LOVED him too!!

Jose was our tour guide on the 4x4 tour to Sete Cidades. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperative, and Jose tried his best to show us all the sights , even though it was extremely foggy. He gave us a lot of information about the island and all the volcanoes. Would recommend booking this tour.

My dad and I booked a last minute half day to Sete Cidades after an attempt earlier in the week (with a different tour provider) to see the lakes and caldeira was 100% thwarted by extremely dense fog. I’m so glad we did - José was a fount of knowledge about Sete Cidades, volcanism, São Miguel’s geography, and Azorean history. As we drove along the volcano’s rim (a route only accessible by 4x4, ATV, biking or hiking), we learned so much about this part of the island while catching amazing views. It’s probably not the most important element of the experience, but worth noting that José is an excellent driver and navigator on technically challenging roads, in addition to being a thoughtful and experienced tour guide. We never felt rushed, but the tour was also efficient and well-timed. Was a great final activity before we left the archipelago.

Juan met us at the designated place, drove through town and country to get a feel for the area. He was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and geographical history as well as political history. We had a WC break and there was a snack bar and gift shop.

You will not be disappointed if you book! Our guide was both knowledgeable and passionate He made us feel welcomed and relaxed throughout the tour. At no point were we hurried or rushed. In fact, we were encouraged to take our time to enjoy and explore From the moment we arrived until the final goodbye, we were given history, facts, figures and wildlife information to deepen our understanding of the many places we explored and things we saw If you are researching who to book with…look no further. José was incredible. Very knowledgeable and an excellent driver, navigating the roads around the canyons. Jose's knowledge of the area and history of Sete Cidades was thorough and interesting. A highlight of our trip.
