We had a wonderful tour with our guide Martina. She was great, and very knowledgeable. She shared about not only the places we were seeing, but also wove in about their history, culture and food.
Katerina’s tour was wonderful, she was super friendly and knowledgeable and had perfect English. She covered everything from history to food and she had a set of images to illustrate some of her contributions.
Martina was an excellent tour guide! She was very friendly & knowledgable about the area. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyable tour! Roman was friendly, knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. Lots of sites were covered during the tour but it did not feel rushed. The stories told were interesting and engaging and gave insight into Bratislava's history and the modern day conditions. Great and honest recommendations during the tour. Really enjoyed it!
Our group was small, and it was hot, but our guide, Matej, was energetic, professional, upbeat, and had a positive view of the history of his country and city. His D&D T-shirt told me we would get along! His English language skills are better than most of my friends. His passion for explaining the history of Bratislava and Slovakia allowed his storytelling to come alive. He even had things to do and where to eat,Cool dude!!
This tour was the perfect way to discover the old town and it's history. Highly recommend. The tour is free and you can then tip the guide based on the value you feel the tour was worth. There is no pressure to tip, however, that is how the guide is paid so please remember that. Martina was great and I wished we'd had another day to allow us to do the 20th century history too. So much history that I was unaware of.
In 1994, I visited Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, a country that had separated from the Czech Republic at the start of the prior year. Comparing Prague and Bratislava, one would have no question which party got the better of the velvet divorce, at least in terms of their capitals. Bratislava was, to put it mildly, a disappointment. There was little to see or do, the castle that towered over the city was dilapidated, and even though everything was dirt cheap, we had nothing to spend our money on, ultimately buying candy bars to give to kids. My how times of changed. No, Bratislava doesn’t have the stunning beauty of Prague, but the old town has been revitalized with tons of stores and restaurants in restored buildings. There is a construction boom with actual skyscrapers. Bratislava Castle has undergone a thorough reconstruction with a museum and just numerous beautiful spaces and incredible views of the now bustling city. The free city tour with Pavel was a fantastic introduction to this city. He was funny, thoughtful, and informative. It was a great start to our day in Bratislava.
Jakub was one of the best tour guides I’ve come across (and I’ve traveled to over 50 countries). He was very knowledgeable, fun, and interesting. The tour was well-paced and a great way to get to know the city and its history.
Mili was excellent tour guide.she knew a lot of facts. Her stories weee incredible. She is well traveled and knowledgeable.
An excellent walking tour with Roman. He was very knowledgeable, entertaining and informative and answered all questions posed to him. Thoroughly recommend this tour the city is just beautiful and the food is lovely ... A must has to be the garlic soup 😋
