Itinerario

This was an excellent tour with Diego. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The breakfast stop was such a highlight, meeting a local vendor at the market and learning about local foods and how they are prepared. Diego was able to share his excitement and knowledge of the history and culture of Guadalajara as well as that of the neighborhoods we visited. In addition, the leisurely paced tour visiting multiple Luis Barragan homes, discussed Baraggan’s influence and additional architectural facts about Guadalajara. I highly recommend this tour!
Muchas gracias Frank! It was a pleasure spending the day with you and Brock. Hope to see you again soon!
Diego is the best! Super knowledgeable and eager to share his insights. The Barragan houses were all beautiful and we got a great feel for the originalist/regionalist style of architecture. We also had an amazing breakfast and got to see the contrast of different neighborhoods. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in architecture, even if only casually.
Gracias John! Enjoy the match tonight!
Diego’s tour was terrific. He is deeply knowledgeable about everything Guadalajara. His love and enthusiasm for the city, its food, architecture, and history are infectious. I learned a lot from him.
Thank you so much Tim! It was a pleasure meeting you. If you need anything else while in GDL just let me know.
I wanted to visit the homes designed Barragán in Guadalajara, but I was unsure how to make it happen. I am a big fan of the architecture by Barragán and I was so glad to book this tour. Diego gave a wonderful tour with his local insight and background in architecture we learned a lot and had fun. The tour started with tasty local breakfast, and included a walking tour with lots of very interesting historical, and art-historical insights. Diego is knowledgeable, kind, and lively. I am so glad we booked the Barragán tour with Diego.
Muchas gracias Kerry! I’m really glad you enjoyed the experience. It was a pleasure spending the morning with you and your family. Please let me know if you're ever back in town, there is a lot more to taste and explore!
We absolutely loved this tour and consider it a highlight of our trip, and would recommend it for serious architecture buffs and more casual admirers (like us). After doing some architectural tours in Mexico City, we were excited to see Barragan's earlier work in Guadalajara. We were fortunate to get inside almost all the buildings we visited, and they were stunning. Diego was a fantastic guide, and was very knowledgeable about Barragan, the sites we visited, and Guadalajara as a whole. He tailored the tour to our needs and interests, and gave us some great tips (including the best spots for craft beer). The visit to the local market at the start of the tour for a delicious breakfast of quesadillas was a great start. We were fortunate to have Diego for a market food tour the next day, which we also recommend.
Gracias Daniel! Your review means the world to me! Just to clarify, we did get inside ALL the buldings we visited (3 houses by Barragan), thankfully. Wishing you and Dennis a smooth journey home!
We had an amazing time on the Barragan tour with Diego. We spent two weeks in Guadalajara and this was the highlight of our trip. Diego is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, walking and talking with him felt like spending the day with a friend who just happens to know everything about the city's history, architecture, neighbourhoods, and the best places to eat. Seeing the city, its food and buildings through Diego's eyes was amazing, and being amongst and inside Barragan's work, experiencing the light and movement through his spaces firsthand, was truly magical! My one regret is that we didn't do this tour earlier in our trip, Diego's recommendations and insights into the different neighbourhoods and history would have shaped how we spent our time and given us sharpened eyes to look at the city through. Next time we are in Guadalajara we will definitely try his other tours. Thanks so much Diego!
So happy you had a great time! Thanks so much for the amazingly detailed review. I hope you and Anthony had a smooth journey home, and please let me know if you’re ever back in town. There is a lot more to explore!
Diego was wonderful! His love for Guadalajara's architecture and cultural tradition was apparent in every word he spoke. After a delicious breakfast in Mercado Santa Tere, we toured several breathtaking examples of Barragán's early work in Col. Americana. The tour ended with tequila and conversation at a beautiful bar/restaurant in a restored historic mansion. Not once did we feel rushed or uncomfortable, and Diego offered many tailored recommendations just for my husband and I. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn more about this beautiful city and its history.
Thank you, Belle! I really enjoyed meeting you and Sam. Safe travels home!
