I, like others, was initially surprised by the size of the group. However, once we realized that we would be traveling by bus, the group size was not an issue at all. Our tour guide, Alex, was great. He was extremely knowledgeable, and the stories and information he shared throughout the day made the experience even more enjoyable. I also felt that we had just the right amount of time at each of the sites and never felt rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire day and would definitely recommend this tour to others.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to know you had a good experience with Alex, and we’d love to have you back on another tour soon! Feel free to tag us and use #NordurTravel when you share your photos!
I selected this excursion because it was advertised as a small group tour. When I arrived at the meeting point, I was directed to a large-group motor coach. This was not what I signed up for & purchased. I consider this a bait & switch tactic, and would not recommend this Viator excursion.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry the tour did not match the format you booked and that communication fell short. Your feedback is very important, and we’ll review it carefully to ensure greater transparency and improve future tours.
This is one of two excursions we took with Nodur Tavel, both times we were booked through a consolidator. This one is promoted and priced as a small group trip with free Wi-Fi on the bus. Our tour group was 50, the capacity of the bus, and there was no Wi-Fi. The lunch stop was so busy to eat we needed to use the buffet. It wasn't bad, but as I recall it was around $40/person. The guide for this excursion was Eric, and he absolutely made it a good tour. He kept the group moving, told us what to expect at each stop, and alternate paths to take depending upon of physical limitations. He had lots of pertinent background stories and it was fun being a part of his tour.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that Eric’s guidance, stories, and thoughtful attention made the excursion enjoyable. We’re sorry and we appreciate your honest feedback. It helps us improve, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon.
Piotr was an excellent guide! He took us to the greatest spots and gave excellent explanations! As we had a really tight schedule, he was always on point but gave us enough time to explore the area! Very well done! We can only recommend the tour!
We’re delighted to hear Piotr made the tour memorable with his excellent guidance, explanations, and thoughtful pacing despite a tight schedule. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you again on future adventures. Thank you!
Converted from small group into large tour bus tour without notice, drivers and passengers seemed equally confused. We did hit all the stops, but due to time for all 55+ folks to exit/enter bus, not nearly as long for exploring as a small group would have been. WiFi did not work. Probably wouldn’t book this again, tour guides did the best they could, but I specifically wanted smaller group setting and was irked by the change with zero communication. I did request a partial refund and did get a small amount back.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and rating. We’re glad you enjoyed the day trip and appreciated the guide’s efforts throughout the journey. Your comments are valuable to us, and we’ll continue working to make each experience even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you again for future adventures.
the guide was very interesting and kept the tour moving. He added a lot to the experience. The scenery was amazing!
We’re delighted to hear the guide kept the tour engaging and added so much to your experience. It’s wonderful that the scenery made such an impression as well. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you again for more memorable adventures. Thank you!
The tour was listed as a small group tour but was changed on the morning of the tour to a large group bus tour. Clearly, with the amount of people coming off the cruise ships it was never going to be a small group tour The majority of the people on the bus were Spanish speaking so the tour was conducted in two languages. It should have been marketed as a bi lingual tour. I wouldn’t have booked it.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and rating. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tour overall, and we appreciate your comments regarding the group size and language. Your input is valuable to us, and we’ll take it into consideration as we continue working to improve. We’re grateful for your support and hope to welcome you again in the future.
We booked a small group tour, assuming that it would be a small group but found out that morning that they converted it to a large group tour without us knowing and actually had two large buses. Overall, the tour was very nice, but not what we expected or paid for.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and rating. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tour overall, though we understand it wasn’t the small group experience you expected. Your comments are important to us, and we’ll take them into account as we continue working to improve. We appreciate your input and hope to welcome you again in the future.
Covers all the major sights of this region - one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. Stan the guide was friendly, informative and very accommodating ensuring everyone had the best experience. My only suggestion is the tour organisers give the guides a board with the name of the tour operators on as some passengers couldn’t find the bus and indeed we struggled too. Not Stan’s fault and hopefully Nordur travel will do this for future tours. A great 5 hours though with lots of Icelandic facts learned and memories made.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed exploring this beautiful region and that Stan made the experience friendly, informative, and accommodating. We appreciate your helpful suggestion regarding clearer bus identification and will take it into account. Your kind words mean a lot, and we look forward to welcoming you again.
Description of tour was deceitful. Trip was shown on Viator web site as small group tour and we were put into a large full bus. Also tour ran short of promised time because passengers on a different cruise line needed to get back to their ship for an earlier sailing time.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry the tour did not met your expectation. We understand how disappointing this must have been and appreciate your honest feedback. Your comments are important, and we’ll review them carefully to improve transparency and future tours.
